Replace ash tray with...?

Im not sure what to replace my ash tray with..and I don't want to put a cup holder there because I personally feel like having a drink there when im trying to shift is kind of a pain..

any suggestions?

nope. just using it as a daily driver. don't plan on adding anything too crazy.

yeah, im thinking about putting a push button start but might install it replacing the cigarette lighter. idk..maybe i'll just hide a couple switches and turn my 240 into a ricer mach 5..make it jump or put a rocket on it..lol.

that would be a horrible place for gauges. having to look down and slightly back to see engine vitals when you SHOULD be looking up.

I personally vote to leave it alone. Nothing fits there that looks good (this side of a boost controller or timer) and anything else that sticks out would be impossible to see.

thats where im putting mine when i do my carputer eventually. mold something like this into the ashtray area with fiberglass.

yup. i smoke but i dont smoke in my car. actually..i dont smoke in any car. i'd rather just smoke outside somewhere. and i would hate to have my car smell like cigarettes.

If you're gonna install a computer in the car, you can run a consult cable to the ECU and run ECUtalk or any other consult program and have it display gauges!

i like this idea...but probably wont benefit me unless i decide to run a turbo or something... maybe have it read OBD codes. lol

if your head unit has an auxiliary input for your ipod or phone that comes from the backside, the cord hides nicely under the cupholder when not in use... I don't need it anymore though because my new head unit has STEREO BLUETOOTH MUAHAHAHA... no wires, and I can listen to pandora anywhere!

in getting back to all seriousness in this thread..Im going to try to mount my hks evc-s and hks type 1 matching turbo timer on the face plate of it and keep it as a working ashtray !!

thats a pretty good idea. i use a blackberry so i was also thinking about making a phone holder/charging station. i have one of those charging stands by my bed thats made for my phone so maybe get another one of those and fabricate it to fit flush inside there with a USB and AUX port inside as well.

i have pandora on my phone too. sh*ts awesome~ lol

It might help us more if we know what mods you have done to the car and then at least that way we can recommend something that might better the vehicle, not just cool looking ya know?

thats what i do rite now. so i'd rather have it do something..atleast charge my phone while its in there or something, u know.

i've already mentioned that this is a daily driver and i don't plan on doing anything crazy. i'm just restoring it to keep it reliable and upgrading suspension, chassis, and aesthetics.

no i dont want to put guages or turbo timers and etc in there. i want to keep it practical and convenient.
