hey

just got an S15 shift knob, and it wont screw on my C's short shifter..is there anyway to put it on w/o ruining anything?
i wanna be able to take it off in the future and i also want it tight enough where it wont come off or turn on hard shifts...does anyone have a S15 shift knob and have a way to put it on?
any help would be greatly appreciated...
Jon

The S15 shift knob is too big for most shifters. Not about unscrewing it. The only way I know how to securely attach it is to use an adhesive like JB Weld.

I have the s15 shift knob on my s14. What we did was put a new threaded insert into the shift knob to match up w/the s14 shifter.

where can i find one of these threaded inserts to fit inside my S15 shift knob to put onto the S14 shifter??? also, what sizes are each??

S15 thread = 12mm ???
S14 thread = 10mm ???

also, is there any particular brand or size that you got??
i really dont wanna get rid of this shift knob..it looks too good w/ my black/silver interior!!!
let me know ASAP... thanx!:D

Yes, the s15 knob is a 12mm and the s14 is a 10mm. Let me find out the exact insert that we used and i'll let you know. Give me a few days though. My buddy that did the mod for me is out of town, i'll ask him when he gets back.
