Just wondering how much everyone pays for butts around the country?

cigarettes are getting out of control in Mass we pay almost 9$ a pack now with the ma sales tax... I live pretty close to the New Hampshire boarder and can take a 15 min ride and get a carton for 58$ for marlboro lights.

My dad was driving back from Florida and bought me a carton for 40$ in S.C.

Here it's around $3.20 for Pall Malls, and around $3.85 for Special Blend and 72 Marlboros. It just goes up from there, but those are what I normally smoke. Used to do Camel Fulls at $4.50 a pack.

ya theres a machine @ the smoke shop in NH you can pack your own for 30$ a carton but i think they suck... you can mess with the settings but they always come out wicked tight and it takes you 1/2 the butt before you get a decent pull off it

Yeah, if I have to do roll your owns, I always buy Bugler or American Spirit tobacco and roll my own with rolling papers.

Between 6 and 8 depending on the Brand in South/Central NJ, I smoke Camel Menthols and they usually come out to $7 per pack and some change.

Was in St. Louis a few weeks ago and bought two packs for like $9, that was awesome.

yeah you can adjust it to make it looser lol. Alot of shop owners are too lazy to help the customer change the setting whereas I change it for every customer. Since there are no chemicals in the tobacco it needs oxygen to help it burn, therefore it needs to be a little looser. When its tight you pop your ears and takes 20 minutes to finish a cigarette haha.

not expensive enough.

:stupid:

I wouldn't so much mind it if it always smelled like the place where they make them, like 3 miles from my house, but something about lighting and smoking them turns a very warm and inviting aroma to something evil and annoying. Never got into smoking, but I am to understand that they're cheaper here in NC than most other places.

freshman year of high school we carpooled with this one chick down the street whose parents smoked, and she always smelled horrible. i'm sure smelling like shit isn't a very fun way to go through school.

You tried Vaping?

I bought an E-cig back in Aug.. the cost of start up hurts a tiny bit... but once you have all the batteries and atomizers... maintaining is easy and cheap (20 bucks in liquid lasts me roughly 1 month... and I was about a 1/2 a pack a day smoker... and you can puff away inside!

Use it for my office job. Its never *quite* the same as a real smoke, but it also keeps you from breaking anyone's hand who is foolish enough to greet you with a handshake.

At least it is not as bad as people who smoke weed. Although it is still enough for me not to want to be around them for a prolonged period of time.
But people who smoke both cigarettes and weed are the grossest.

Most I've ever paid was about, $6.80 for a pack of Reds in Albuquerque. Cheapest, $2.99 for a pack of USA Golds when I had no money hahah.
But like I said, generally around 3-5 for smokes here, unless you go American Spirit or Lucky Strikes. Those are about 6 with tax.

Its still cancerous.

Inhaling *any* smoke repeatedly is bad. That is why smoke is considered a carcinogen.

But one or two joints a week gives the lungs time to heal, unlike 1/2 to a pack of cigs.

FD: I don't smoke either.

I do support legalization and regulation of all drugs. I don't think smokers should be insurable, private or Gov. and a pack should be $10-15.

Yeah, anything in moderation is better.

But you are really getting into the addictiveness.

Marijuana is not addictive in that same sense. If you were to smoke 10 joints a day (lol) just like a smoker does... then you are still putting yourself at a risk.

I don't believe in restricting anyone's right to smoke, in any way. I'm an ex-smoker since I went to the e-cig, but I understand why people do it.

I feel that having a tobacco surcharge on insurance is proper.. as if we are higher risk, then we just pay for that. But trying to deter people by making them too broke to afford it is imo redonkulous. :)

ugh. my great aunt smokes like a chimney. I watched her house a few times back in high school when she was out of town, and my clothes reeked afterwards. Even just visiting for 1/2 hour would make you smell. You wouldn't notice it at first, but if you picked up your clothes the next day you could definitely smell it.

Cigar smoke is worse.

Oh god the smell of cigars can make you cringe.
