WTF Circuit sports solid shifter bushing doesn't fit??

OK I purchased the circuit sports CS-SS-NS240B bushing from FR sport last week. I went out to the garage to install it on the car last night and to my dismay it doesnt fit. the bushing OD is actually slightly smaller then the shifeter end. so i would have to flex this thing alot to get on, and in the process it will probably crack. Is this normal? Is the part made wrong? I'm lost on what to do now.

It may not be meant for oem shifters as I am sure aftermarket like B&M are smaller, I have compared mine several times to know. That reminds me I have to take it out again to change tranny fluid I will compare again.

The thing is that even if I where to fit it on an after market shifter It would sill have alot of slop. My stock shifter w/o any bushing slops around alot. If you compair the measurements in the pics the od of the solid bushing to the stock one w/o a bushing you will notice it's smaller. Thus it would have even more slop. I knew from the get go that I should just machine my own and save the $22 but I was lazy and ordered one that they say fit's the s13 and 14. I'll call FR and see what they have to say on the issue.

I bought a knock off shifter and the CS solid bushing, IIRC I had to push mine pretty hard to get it on. I doubt the brass will break its a softer metal that can flex more than others.
If its really that big of a deal, I guess you could always freeze the shifter assembly and heat the bushing a little.
But honestly you're just over thinking it, its a 20 dollar part.

can any one confirm the ball size that the bushing fits onto for a stock s13 or s14 shifter. FR sport was concerned that it was an s15 shifter but the thread size is m10x1.25. This last piece of information is critical. So if any one has a spare ka 5 speed s13 or s14 sr trans or a s15 6speed if they could measure the shifter cup ball size I would be forever great full.

I just received my solid shifter for my 14 and it went on ok it's just that it's got MADD amounts of slop like previously stated...will the extra play be a problem for me or does it really matter???

I got 11.90mm (0.468in) on my S13 shifter.

We wont know until some one confirms the stock size shifter ball on the ka 5smt, s13, s14, or 15 Sr mt transmissions. you might be in the same boat as me. mine has a decent amount of slop.
All I can say is will some one step up to the plate do a quick measurement and put this to rest what the issue is. The best thing would be get measurements from a s15 6speed and one from a 5 speed to compare.

The measurement I just posted was the shifter ball of the S13.

Don't have measurements for an S15 shifter though. :\

Thanks a bunch, as soon as some one with the measurement of a s15 6speed posts I think we can finalize the problem. IF the s15 shifter ball is .625" the question arises why did some 5 speeds have a larger 6 speed shifter ball/cup combo. From the above post it appears it's not only me. This might save a few people some headachs when dishing out the $ on a short throw that may not fit. Then I guess some one will have to make a convertion bushing. MR lathe and Mr Delrin here I come.

Swap/Trade for a Plastic one that will Likely fit?
the one I ordered is to Small with the OD and to big on the ID...
I believe it to be the early SR5 Toyota type and I need a four speed version.

Dude, that Caliper Pic- SO Help's to Verify that this Bushing is Very Likely, Just Exactly what I need. at least it seems to be the best part to try ordering next...I like a Tight Shifter!

Just got that Bushing...definitely looks like it should fit.
I'd mail you one of these Black Teflon Bushings on faith that you'd mail me that Bronze one if you still have it?
I've already traded one to a friend...

Perfect for my Specific need/this Shifter is likely out of a Datsun Pickup.
