Accords never came with h22 motors. Not in the u.s. The difference in the American and Japanese h22 is that all America motors have two letters and 3 numbers. I.e. U.s.=h22a4 jdm=h22a so that's how you can tell the difference in hondas. Hope that answers you question and clears up your confusion.
