kinda random, but after seeing this same mistake made in the gt-s/240sx topic in the tech forum, and after seeing this earlier in my s14 sr20 fsm, i can't help myself...
THE STOCK EXHAUST ON THE 240SX IS THE SAME AS THE STOCK EXHAUST ON THE SILVIA. i don't know as far as s13's, but i'm guessing it would be the same. therefore, you would NOT need an exhaust to do the sr swap.

whoa but fpr performance a better flowing exhaust would do wonders for the turbo i think ppl are talkin about aftermarket exhausts they already have

well, even if it was the aftermarket exhaust they have, of course it would fit if the stock fits the sr - the flange would have to be the same. i've heard people talk about NEEDING an exhaust system though over their stock exhaust, or a big performance loss would result, which isn't true.

TT Supra OE exhaust, for example, is small by comparison to HKS etc, and these systems produce 15++ HP. and when combined with a cat-delete downpipe produces some 50++ HP! the SR swap would run fine with a stock (didn't know same as KA!?!) system, but will produce more HP with aftermarket system. most people just want to squeeze as much HP as they can, and exhaust on a turbo'd car is usually first step.

Hey crazycuban its true you dont need to swap your exhaust but if you don't you wont get ride of as much gases as you will from an aftermarket. So the more gas released the more power and safer your turbo will be.The gasses can build upa nd go back in to the engine from what i hear and produce build up in the engine and stuff. But that may be wrong It will be better to get an after market exhaust imo.Hey are you comiing to the next meet on the 23rd its at the pentagon.

yeah, of course a freer flowing, aftermarket exhaust is better, thats not what i'm debating though. I'm just trying to set the people on here straight who have said that you will lose power with the ka exhaust, and therefore need a new one.
and beissen, the stock ka exhaust will not hurt the turbo or performance is what i'm saying. nissan designed that exhaust for reliability, as it had to to mass-market the silvia. if the turbo broke down every 20,000 miles from backpressure, then the silvia would have been off the market ten years ago.
as far as the pentagon meet, i'll see - i'm pretty sure that if i can get the money up i'll be going to the vir track event with hippo and uuninja.

uhh - I think you will be going to the Pentagon - the VIR event is full <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> But good call on the exhaust bit - that rumor is awful!
Josh - let's just hope that exhaust gasses don't recirculate into your combustion chambers... I can't even imagine how bad that would be :#### - no more "o" face:

Yup the whole thing is a direct fit. I have a Blitz 3" down pipe on my Turbo KA... With an Apex GT Spec.

Cool. I have been wondering about that. Here is another side to the coin though, say I want to change my exhaust now, to a 3 inch pipe, it is on an N/A engine, I won't hurt anything right? I will just lose some low end grunt due to lack of backpressure right?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah thats horrible...whatever though, i guess its better that way - i don't think it would've been good to give you the money and still not know if my car will be done.
as far as a 3 in on a n/a engine, you won't hurt anything at all, just low end grunt like you said.

You will probabably through a code on your ecu if you remove the cat and o2 sensor. I did...
