I was driving down the road the other day and the car shut off completely and would not turn over. So I towed it home. The next day, I tried to turn it on again, and it worked. Except my AEM wideband was reading 10.3. I tried changing the plugs, nothing. Checked to make sure all my ECU plugs where in, nothing.

So now im stuck on what to look for. The car ran perfectly before this.

Thanks

I changed most of my vacuum hoses last year because I was having a similar problem. Turned out it was the Maf last year. Ill check it again.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Check to see if the fuel pressure is at the recommended level.

one of the FPRs might be bad.

Another thing might be that the coolant temp sensor is bad. The engine runs more rich until it gets to be above 67 deg C.

No fuel pressure gauge. I was thinking it was my FPR, is there anyway to check??

The only way to check is to hook up a pressure gauge and check the pressure

Bit of an update:

The car started 5 days ago but still ran very rich, so I left it to sit till tonight, and now it wont start again.... It feels like its not getting fuel. So I checked the fuel hoses going into the rail, and there was fuel in them.

Tried my friends MAF and O2 sensor and it didnt help.

I tried putting my ECU into diagnostic mode but the light on the ECU just continues to flash red, even when I follow the directions from the manual. Does a flashing ECU mean something??

Thanks

I went to go try and buy a pressure gauge for fuel and they are 60 dollars. I would rather try a few other things before buying that.

Just buy a regular mechanical gauge, some fittings, and extra long fuel lines. Take off your hood, and tape the gauge to your windsheild. Check the gauge when you have the key in the 'on' position (but with the car off), with the car on and idling, and make a couple of pulls (hard and soft ones). It sounds ghetto but it's just temporary to see if your fpr is holding.

The car is not starting at the moment, but it did a week ago.... Thats why im confused lol

yeah its telln you the fault code.
you will get a series of low the fast blinks

Ex: 3 slow blinks= 3 4 fast blinks = 4
Put them together and you get Code 34

If thats the only code then it will repeat, if there are others it will blink accodingly

Ah, somehow I totally skipped over that part.

The ecu light, it's just one red light right? It should blink slow "x" amount of times, short pause and blink fast "x" amount of times. Ex: Code "55" (All good) would be:

blink.......blink.......blink.......blink.......bl ink

(short pause)

blink..blink..blink..blink..blink

Hope that helps. Carefully though, their may be more than one code, so keep counting the blinks until they start repeating themselves.

EDIT: sileighty beat me to it.

Yah I know thats how its supposed to work, but its not....

It just blinks red

blink..blink..blink..blink..blink..blink

Find a shop and bring your car to them.

No one here knows rb20's or even turbo engines. Thanks though
