Warning to the Cerritos/Artesia/Long Beach area

Sunday night 4 trucks were stolen from the Walmart parking lot at the Cerritos Town Center and 14 more were stolen from the Cerritos mall parking lot. upon review of security tapes, it takes them approximately 20 SECONDS to break in and drive away. they are targeting newer pickup trucks mainly looking for tools/electronic appliances and body parts i.e. bumpers, wheels etc. They break open the steering columns and replace the oem ignition chips with their own and simply drive away. parking within view and arming your alarms is highly advised. please report suspicious activity to police.

those places are the best for thieves. right next to the freeway. i used to work at the Long Beach Towne Center and cars used to get stolen there all the time.
