made 463whp @ 25lbs - pfc sensor doesnt work above 25lbs apparently :( got a new one sitting in the glove box - will try for a race gas tune in fall of spring, not in a rush at the moment.

break in tune was put on by r/t tuning - they did a great job, I had planned on going there for the full tune but I saw [email protected] (who built the motor) was getting into tuning so I let him rip on it

To get the paint from Top Secret you have to submit your build and the head engineer has to approve of the car for them to consider selling you the paint, and it's not cheap... spoke to one of their usa reps 8 or so months ago just for laughs

Sure you could just show your paint shop a picture of it, but thats not going to be close to the real thing.

And how many cars are running around with authentic top secret paint to get a sample from them? Not many.

I mean if you don't have a problem just getting close to it, then I'd go for it.

Kinda like special order Volk wheel colors - Takata Green and F-Zero "I just jizzed" Blue.

yeah that pinstripe is peacing out when it goes to paint, I've never seen another 240 with one... should be running in another week or so, had a little issue with the turbo hitting the bmc

which spot are you referring to? The rust near the frame rail was patched by the shop, no idea how they fixed it...

It's ok, I just wanted to have a little fun and do something wacky with something that is not permanently affixed to the car. I knew people weren't going to like it - hell, I'm not even sure if I like it - I'd just like to drive the car and get it tuned and see what kind of power it makes, a 400$ color choice on wheels that people don't like doesn't affect my affinity for attempting a 500whp sr20 build cause it's something I felt like doing one day :)

so, updates... car made 315whp on 12lbs of boost, completely ran out of money so saving up for a full tune - car runs real dope - r/t tuning put a base tune on it in pa, gonna get back there asap and see what kinda power the car makes, then save up to make it pretty over winter

Regardless, the car is looking good, I'm glad you're approaching this build in your own way.. Oh and don't paint it.. Just waiting for that factory Aero to come on body colored..

Oh and rock those FN's.. I got a full set myself.. Lightweight wheel designed in japan, 100x better than all that knockoff ish floating around these days..

Peoples say they look like shit in pictures, other people ask me if they're ever going up for sale when they see them in person.

To each his own, quite frankly I'm not a fan of those wheels but it's your car so my opinion doesn't matter.

I don't believe I said I hate anything on your car, but thanks for giving me an excuse for why your car looks the way it does. The other guy here that built an engine bay and a nice motor has a pretty ugly zenki too, but you know what it's his car. Same for the other guy who has the flat black s14 with the strawberry face and advan wheels. The car is ugly as shit, but the motor and fuel setup is on point.

We're not a rich community by far, I'll be the first to tell you. People who start up these track car, whatever car build threads never finish the car, sell it off or get trade happy for something more half complete than what their working with and eventually will trade their way into a complete car.

My car is far from being finished, and I just so happened to get lucky with the aesthetics portion of it. I wish I was where you're at in the engine department but I'm still a good year off before my motor is anything more than a stock 200hp daily drivable machine.

You have a great thing going on under the hood, but again your car isn't finished so I can't really say I hate anything until you say your car is done.

Then you can really work on pleasing me bud!

thanks, I have black skirts white valance unpainted front lip unfortunately :( trying to work it out so I get the car repainted champagne gold and match the aero - eventually I'll consider wrapping it but it needs a freshening up first!

5000k clutch slip shattered something in the drivetrain, didn't leak anything or drop any parts, engine seems fine, car rolls in first but it feels like first gear is gone... but whatever, will update when I find out what happened :)

update as promised; snapped an axle =V clutch was fine and the seals on the diff were warped... replacing all the synchros in the trans that were worn upon dissasembly of the trans... replacing with oem axles, never launching the car again. trying to get it back and body work/painted before spring gets in full swing... not in any particular rush... gotta get the full tune on as well...

Didn't realize there was so much damage back there, so I understand the justification. I just like seeing stock metal fitting big ass rubber underneath. Sometimes I feel over fenders are a cheap way out. But I guess that is kinda the MO with our cars.

the driver side one has a crease in the fender going over the body line as well as a slew of dents from the previous owner =|

I'm between 55 and 60 into the car at this point... if I ever do find a cheap solution for anything I'd love to take it lol... been broke since I started this...

the guy doing the body work is doing it for free, he said the rear panels would be fixable IF I wasn't going to roll the fenders aggressively... so it was free body work vs 700$ in fenders or whatever they cost :(

I love the oem style of the car as well... just wasn't in the cards for me!

soon as I get it back from paint gonna have it retuned for 26-28psi on pump and see what it does on 116.. that i'm excited for...

I think i've seen a navan bumper on on champagne gold before, I have the rear valance/zenki skirts going on... the navan bumper is nice but I think it will sit way too low for where I live... replacing the lip is easier than fixing a cracked bumper...

people like the wheel color in person, in picture it doesn't look as bright and you can't see the shimmer to it... it's a little wacky and I've considered changing it to a purple, it was always something not permanent to me so I didn't mind trying out something that wasn't popular at the time... I will probably keep it for a while though it's grown on me!

I've been shown some pictures of rainbow, gold and silver flake on top of champagne gold... but I think I'm closer to just staying oem champagne gold - the more I thought about switching the color the less I liked the idea...

If no one likes it so be it, people who don't like the color should be able to see past it - it's a 240sx underneath :)

I try to stay oem with looks, the navan bumper is nice but I like having the usdm one because if I smash it into something it's just a lip to replace not a bumper, I have a difficult time as is getting in and out of my driveway which leads me to - not lowering the car anymore - doesn't really do anything but create more headaches and put the car in more danger of being ripped apart by the shitty roads where I live - I'll leave the flush and stanced out stuff to people who are willing to deal with the headaches that come along with it (just not my preference) although I do enjoy looking at those cars!

5000k clutch slip shattered something in the drivetrain, didn't leak anything or drop any parts, engine seems fine, car rolls in first but it feels like first gear is gone... but whatever, will update when I find out what happened :)

it snapped the axle and warped replaceable parts on the differential ... with 315whp... making 463 now and having it retuned, wasn't built for a drag car, just a fun car to drive

today I had a nismo slave clutch cylinder put in by way of recommendation from the owner [email protected] who suggested it might make the exedy triple plate more manageable when driving - it did - car's a lot smoother to drive now.

also have these circuitsport lensed out headlights waiting to go on the car - I'm trying to wait until the circuit sport corners come in, they were back ordered, also circuit sport sidemarkers for the car...

thanks and thanks. i broke the car on the way home either after or while racing an r8. car felt like it hopped off the pavement from bumps and spun the tires... think the differential is fuxored or, something, i dont even want to look at the car right now.

gonna have it towed this week or next to the shop and have it looked at. probably do a race gas tune while it's there... hopefully i dont miss my 5th summer in a row owning the car... gonna be really hard to keep her if i cant enjoy it during the warmer months for half a decade :(
