View Full Version : s14 european kouki headlights
Is there any difference between the USDM s14 kouki headlights and the European 200sx kouki headlights? Need to make sure before I have my friend in germany buy anything. From the pictures of 200sx's that i've been looking at, looks like theres no difference between the kouki's only between the zenki headlights being glass and usdm ones beign fugly yellow plastic :D

Kouki I believe was glass housing both in Germany and US. A thread on FA did mention that the projector on the German spec kouki light seems larger. I may be wrong.

Hey Mike, I found the instructions you needed:
a.) Open mouth.
b.) Insert foot.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Come take a look at Rory's japanese zenki S14 headlamps next time you're down in SD (which will be in like 2025).. They're plastic too.
ONLY german S14s had the glass covers.

ps: Why would anyone in their right mind want to run Japanese headlamps on a USDM vehicle, may I ask?

You mean the S13 look on the 240 hatchback(180sx)? so it looks like a sil-80?? well..........as long as they can back it up, I'm all for it....but being for show sucks azzzzzzz in my opinon. Why would you spend so much money just to show your car off PARKED?!?!!? Dam them foo's lol, turboing cars and doing so much work........yet your not even gonna drive it?!?!?! Just pisses me off.........

i can actually understand the projector headlamps more than the others, because atleast those have a sharp cutoff and typically, a "Z" lighting pattern.. but not the reflector-based headlamps.
Go figure.. maybe they were on sale at a certain scrapyard in Japan at the time. :)
ps: phoenix, doesnt 2tn'd sound more like "tootooned" ?

lol, thats why the T is Silent. lol. Its just an abbreviation. Besides, I think calling a racing team, "too tuned" is even dam ricer...erer..... lol. I just wanted a name that had a double meaning but didnt sound um too ricer like. Hopefully I would be able to bring this team out next year and smoke all these show car based teams that think their fast with names that's related to speed or racing. Like theres one team here in Ga, names XLR8SHEN, yet all they have is mostly show cars and throw car shows.......go figure. Thats like most of the teams in Ga, especially up North. Either the team has "concepts" or "illisions" or some crap like that......dam I hate show cars that aren't even used for driving.
ok so what from what I understand the european kouki s14 headlights have a larger projector, glass housing and the beam pattern for LHD? Vs. the USDM lights which have a smaller projector and plastic housing?
Thanks for your help guys.

All kouki S14 headlights have glass housing.
Aren't the JDM ones the same as the European ones?
I think the projectors are the same size. The different is that the gap between the high beam and the projector is bigger on the European ones.
