Hi All,

I'm new to the Nissan community so bear with me if I'm asking NOOB questions.

I just got a 97 240sx Base Model and was wondering what's needed for a 5 lug swap. I see a lot of people using parts from the Z32 but what about the 350Z? I was thinking of a BBK later down the line, why not just use some Brembos from the Track Edition?

I apologize in advance for the noob question but the search button didn't help too much. Any advice would be appreciated.

Here are some photos of the new project and the M3 that I gave up... :(

you gave up an m3 for that?

shoulda traded with me, i would have gladly given you mine with no damage like that.

because you're from NYC, i'll be nice. go to a nissan dealership, buy all OEM parts from an S14 SE model, throw em on. you can also use Z33 brakes, they've been discussed before. look in the tech section for that. i believe it's under the 'Check out my big brakes!' or whatever.

Welcome to Zilvia, where no one wants to help you do anything.

But my 2cents, I've gone from 4 lug s14 to 5 lug. I used ichiba front 5 lug conversion hubs & z32 rear 5 lug hubs.

It's not about not wanting to help people. It's about people not even ATTEMPTING to help themselves. There is tons, and tons of information on this subject, it isn't hard to find, if you at least TRY. These noobs sign up don't bother searching at all. They they expect to be spoon fed then get all butt hurt, when they get their asses handed to them. Welcome to zilvia is right.

5 lug conversion just buy the hubs and rotors are you are set.

remove the front hub 32mm socket from the spindle.
remove rear hub 36mm socket from axle. swap it and out with 4 lug to 5 lug and rotors. done deal.. same rotors and everything.

if you are going to run brembo z33 track rotors your going to need to redrill the spindle to 14mm bolt size. and i highly recommend upgrading brake master cylinder bmc. and cut out your dustshield

For the front you can use S14 front hubs or Ichiba front hubs. For the rear you can use S14 rear hubs or Z32 rear hubs. Then you need 5 lug hubs. Z32 brakes are often used because they bolt right up, but you need conversion brake lines. You can use the track edition brembos from the Z33 with a bracket I believe and you have to either swap out the spindles or drill it out to fit a 14mm as said above.

When using different brakes you either have to swap the brake shields or cut yours.

And yup, use the BMC from the respective cars. Makes it much better!

Ichiba hub bearings don't like to last that long I hear.. so keep your old 4 lug hubs around incase the bearings go out so you can swap em out.

But yeah, this topic has been covered multiple times.. Google is your friend.

"Research on 5 lug swap" would indicate you have actually LOOKED for answers. You obviously haven't or you would not have started a thread about it.

You should have titled this thread "Tell me what parts I need so I don't have to look for myself, oh and look how cool I am because of my last car".

Either way, this thread is closed. :lockd:
