guess that breaks down to what you really want. Personally I'd rather have the 240sx as I'm not of fan of DSM's build quality or reliability.

dsms wont handle quite as well and they wont be as fun IMO i think maybe u should test drive first and see if u like the boost from the dsm without handling versus the handling and tossability of the 240 minus the boost and of course the car CAN be boosted <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

DSM's are great if you want to spend money and bolt ons and stuff like intercooler, boost controller, and injectors. but i always here about their drivetrain problems with high horsepower applications. and by the time you mess with all that, you could have had a more reliable 240sx running 2/3 the boost of a DSM and be faster....not off the line though...

DSMs are great cars, but like all cars they have some problems.I've owned my 96 GST for close to 6 years.3 of those years at 22psi and 400hp.No broken trannies, melted pistons,or any major problems whatsoever.1st gen DSMs(90-94) have weak pistons, but a better flowing intake manifold and intake side of the head. The turbo is also alot better than 95-99 DSM.2nd gen DSMs(95-99) can handle up to @450whp before needing to be opened up and strengthened with better rods(stock 95-99 pistons are good to 550hp.All you need to really do is supply the right amount of fuel and tune it well. The only major problem with DSMs is "CRANKWALK".It plagues the 95-99 cars and Mitsubishi denies it even exists.
As far as handling is concerned, a stock 240 will destroy a stock DSM.Once you start modifying though, things get much closer.

Personally I don't like the feel of DSM's, at least older models... I drove a 93 and it felt like I was driving a go-cart with a huge booster seat under my ass.

Go drive an AWD around the track, they are totally different and almost always slower, great for rally, not for race...
