So guys both units are within the same price range. Which would you guys go with? The Haltech will need a custom harness made and the power FC is plug and play. The haltech has a built in MAP sensor for $800.00.. Im having a hard time finding a used D-Jetro currently so Ive been considering going with the Haltech Sprint 500 as its with in my budget range.

Haltech by a large margin. It offers a higher possibility for a better and more accurate tune. Power FC is OUTDATED Even with a D-Jetro its still a garbage EMS. Get Haltech and find a good tuner and you're set.

I was thinkingone of steve shadows base maps than having insane speeds (mike angel) finish it on the dyno. He can tune either system.

I could not agree more. I have absolutely no idea why the Power FC is held in such high regard on these forums.

Just to get it to sync with a laptop you need 3 party software and it's still a PITA after sorting through serial to USB cable connections and bit speed. Not to mention injector lag time correction you need to imput when most injector companies hold that information proprietary.

Also when you do get the 3rd party dataloggit box you have to pay another 20 buks to get a yahoo groups invite. And then hopefully you download the software correctly and hopefully get it to sync with your laptop. So after 800 FC, 200 dataloggit, and 20 yahoo group invite you are no closer to getting a solid tune then you were with your stock ECU. Then the next hurdle is finding a tuner who can tune the FC. Some won't even touch them others will tune but it's usually not as good as it would be if you had a more popular and modern EMS.

I swear most people who endorse the Power FC haven't had the pleasure of dealing with it.

Go Haltech.

My hurdle isnt the tuner. Its building a custom harness for the haltech sprint. I dont want to hack up harness that badly really. But a simplified race harness would be awesome.
