View Full Version : Small A/C condensor recommendations?

I've been trying to search around for an A/C condenser thats smaller in size than the S14 one (27in x 14in). I've had my radiator support modified to fit my radiator "inside" the core so the stock A/C condenser location is now taken up by the radiator. So I plan to have the condenser sit between the radiator and the headlight brackets, but need to know what car uses a smaller ac condenser than the s14 one. I plan on purchasing that smaller A/C condenser and using it on my s14 and having the lines made. All that is no problem, its just finding the A/C condenser. Thanks for the help.

HPI makes an amazing condenser for the S14.
But get ready to pay...though not super expensive..Its half the size of the OEM.

Sounds pretty good. I was thinking Honda as well but just wanted to confirm with the pros. I don't really have too much time but i will manage to make it down there.

Awesome! I would really appreciate that man. And if you're willing to get rid of it i wouldn't mind taking it if the price is right.
Thanks

Sanden makes a compact unit that I have seen used in LSx swaps. Unit seems to work well even with the brutal down here in Tx.

Other than the major thread necro, I agree this topic needs more discussion. I'm finally getting back to my RB25 Neo Zenki build after a 2 year hiatus. I got a little bit burnt out and had other projects lined up to complete for various other hobbies, but now it is time to get back to it with gusto.
This is one of the last things I need to figure out for the planning stage. I have a Griffin Scirocco radiator I am planning on tucking, which should work fine, but I want to keep A/C and was looking for a smaller condenser for mounting elsewhere in the bay. I'm not sure where I'll mount it yet, but without a size, it is difficult to determine where it will fit best. I was thinking instead of trying to feed air through the front bumper, I would just mount an electric fan to it and wire it to the compressor relay. Anytime the compressor kicks on, the fan should be pushing air through the condenser.
I will definitely be running custom AC lines, which with the right tools, are not that difficult to make. AC systems really aren't that complex, so as long as you run the lines correctly and have all the required components the lines can be routed wherever works.
2muchboost - any idea on the Sanden Part number? Or intended application vehicle?
Edit: Here's a smallish parallel flow from ColdHose - It is actually 12"x16" dimensions:

I lost the notes on the Sanden Unit but had this link saved in that folder. I would give them Sanden a shout with this part # and see if that would work.

I have a build thread I'm doing a tucked radiator/condenser setup that may be of help. I spec'd out the radiator and condenser there and I'll be doing the custom lines soon.
