my DRFT bumper

fyi, i was told so far im 3 of 3 people in the USA with it i guess haha..

1) koguchi
2) a customer for sam
3) me

haha..pretty cool. but then dorifto had to rub it in he's 1 of 1 with his hot road kit. jerk!


wow, the quality of the bumper is EXCELLENT. very nice. i opted for poly version (flexible type). ill get the FRP one maybe next month. I also picked up the position markers as well.

a few things about the bumper

the poly version is quite light. ill see if i can weight it soon. It is very flexible. its nto stiff at all and bends nicely. The bumper includes the sides too, so its like a full bumper, unlike OEM which is a bumper and then you need some side peices for fender as well (how chuuki/kouki bumpers are)


the poly bumper is a glossy black.

it already has teh holes drilled too. off the top of my head, 2 on each side (for fender), i think 2 for 'mouth' and 2 up top where the center 'vent/grill' is.

they quality is great. might test fit it tonight, but probably tomorrow due to being busy tonight.
ill see if i can get some pics after work today to post up.

overall im pretty happy. there are a few things that arent that attractive about the bumper but for what it is and so forth misc stuff it was worth my money.

so right now here's what i have to do to my car still:

get it painted
pick up my wheels (fn01rc 17x9 +15)
pull rear fenders


so body part list is:
wide front Abroad 25+mm fenders
OEM S13 Aero Sideskirts
OEM 180sx 3 peice rear valence (from dorifto180sx)
DRFT bumper
Kouki 180sx Taillamps

not bad! :) im pretty happy. i have a few more tricks up my sleeve going on/picking up too ;)

that bodykit is straight sexxxaaay. Its not all huge and swoopy like a lot of the other s13 bodykits i've seen. The poly-flex construction is definitely a plus. It'll be interesting to see the final result. I'd rock a bodykit like that if they made something similar for the s15 front. Unfortunately the DRFT front bumper for the s15 doesnt have the same look as yours. DRFT fronts for the s13 and s14 are taaasty but the s15 front is eh:( .

when i get the FRP one we might tweakit a lot for various reason ;)

i didnt get the sideskirts. i dont like the ridge along the bottom. we think the aero s13 sides will match up pretty close to the DRFT bumper. ill find out shortly (tomorrow or tonight) :)

not right now

1) cost
2) i dont have the lip yet..i REFUSE to sport a kouki bumper w/o the lip because it looks like CRAP without it
3) OEM bumper..fiberglass fenders..bumper can take a beating, fenders cant (as much). id rather break my bumper before the fenders
4) looks. kouki is cool but only w/ some fabbing. removing turn signals, and kouki needs the side peices too for fender. GOTTA have that as well.
5) weight. OEM bumpers are heavy! the DRFT one is very light. can be supported with zipties easily. i would never do that with a kouki

ill get a kouki at a later date. its great for bling purposes. haha.

we agree if its lower, not by much (i dont care either way, but its nice to have everything flow well)

when i put the bumper on and test its fitment, ill put the sides no too and take some pics.

right now, the sides line up REALLY nicely (perfect some might say) with the 89/90 zenki lip on the chuuki bumper. it flows really well.

we assume the DRFT will be pretty close to that as well. find out this weekend! :)

sykikchimp: i think it would be perfect for you (road racing) its setup for 'drift' with the vents and such. good cooling. i think that vented aread between headlights is awesome (though it doesn tlook great) if you have a rad panel (like GP SPorts or Yashio Factory or Garage Defend) for radiator coolingperfect. muhaha..i get my YF soon..one day...

anyways, i think if my car was black i wouldnt be too conerend on painting it. its pretty glossy black. like plastic gloss black. you could 'get away' with it for sometime :p

when i go turbo and get (one day) FMIC ill modify the front on the FRP one ill get. better FMIC cooling adn still have great rad cooling from teh top vent. put a oil cooler behind one of the lower ones

i did answer yoru PM yesterday! oh maybe zilvia went down for a moment, i remember soemthing
fits fine drill a few holes and enlarge a few and it will fit perfect. no serious modification need, just soem hole tweaking. ziptie and use a few screws to hold that bad boy on. fits almost perfect

yeah yeah ill come up in a few weeks. remove the 3rd brake light and cover over the antenna hole. muhaha..then is almost ready for paint. body fixing done (dents dont matter to me..i have SMALL dings nothign serious)

thanks. ill roll those fenders for ya'll. takes about 3 hours for a full car depending if i cant bring up a flame torch. heat gun takes 3 hours front and rear. we'll work out a weekend. maybe..weekend after this. gotta check w/ mom and pop. :)

and yeah, antenna and brake light are easy, but i was refering to molding your body pieces..but given the frequent changing of your mind as far as looks you may not want anything molded..lol...:p..plus drifting isnt exactly easy on the body panels..

yeah we have both flame torches and super hot heat guns...so you don't need to worry about that...

and make sure you bring Lindsey's lazy ass...lol..he promised he'd roll up next time...

Silver. with lots of metallic flake. mm bling blingy silver. not dark silver. but a light with flake silver. so in direct sun it will be almost liiiight silver/whitish but in shadows its darker. should be very nice. i hope haha.

the 1/2 clears arent for sale. a friend is taking them. sorry.

after my little meeting w/ the plastic barrier, the black surrounding part wouldnt let the headlight close it rubbed
and since it looks ghetto its best this way (both sides are same)

it gives a very weak and pathetic "please dont hurt me i bruise easily" look, which i enjoy. it also has that mechanical industrial type look at the same time.

sleepy eyes are for the weak
full awake at all hours is the way to go. goofy and funny. :boink:

i test fitted it with the wide fenders but didnt strap it on. just put it on, so dont mind the gap. i put my stock fenders back on for now since change wheels again.

its still taking me a while to like this bumper. not only does mycar look like crap right now, the bumper is not 'normal' style kouki so im not 100% into it yet. im sure when car is painted ill be digging it a-ok

the wide fenders are only wide at the wheel part the rest bolts up to stock bumpers/door areas perfectly .just wider at the wheel top area mostly. butlooks stockish

i tested the oem s13 aero sdies. they sit about 1/2 HIGHER the nthe bumper. dammit. oh well, its really not HORRIBLE but the flow. doesnt matter. hahahaa..i have that other kit soon and i can use that

or ill pick up the DRFT sides later. no worries. it will work out ok one way or another! :)

my suspension is pretty decent and even more when i put the s15 subframe on (sitting at my friends home) so when the SR goes in, i basically have a relatively fully built car (to what i want it at), minus the driver skilll hahaha..but that comes in due time with practice and dedication. and that's something im willing to do, because i enjoy it so much.
