View Full Version : How hard is it to find RB20DET parts???

I am going to test drive, and possibly buy an R32 Skyline Gt-s with upgraded:
Exhaust
Turbo (R33 GT-R Turbo)
Injectors
Fuel Pump
Cam Shaft

Pushing nearly 315 hp at the wheels.

I am either going to buy this car, or a Supra tt, but I am worried about buying a skyline for practicality reasons. Where in southern cali can I easily get parts?

PS. Ill take pictures.

Are you getting the skyline from motorex? Is it sog legal and are you gonna daily drive it? I was told that RB parts are super scarce and basically anything and everything had to be imported. So if you need a new water pump or the anything else you have to wait a few weeks but I also heard that motorex is going to start carrying parts for the skyline.

Yes, It is through Motorex, and it would be my daily driver. Maybe I should just go with the Supra......

edit: and yes it is smog legal/street legal

You can get parts from the factory nissan dealer I think you just have to have part numbers and stuff.  I think unstable and mckinney motorsports should be able to help out also,so talk to them.

 Yes,  Motorex will have some parts in stock.  I can get you the rest of the stock parts if needed.  But it will have to be shipped in.  I think you will be able to order through Nissan if you wanted.  But not to sure.......

 Let me know if there is anything I can do.

how much is it to buy an r32 from motorex? or how bout an r33?

R32 gt-r is around 35k. R33 is around 45k.

I love skylines and think they are awesome especially as rare as they are. But if i were you id go with the supra.. Love those just a tad more.

no way go with the skyline.. the aftermarket here in america like the supra better, but be unique.. u've seen what.. maybe 10 supras in person .. how many skylines have u seen... i thought soo.. it'll bee sweet as ####

I have seen like 5-10 skylines, and maybe 50-100 supras....

But supras are the shit, and the thought of having a car stuck in my garage for a month because it doesnt have a working water pump or something doesn't make me feel very confident about getting one.
