so heres the deal:
my s13 is making a weird squealing sound when i drive. the noise is coming from the front of my car. it occurs more when i turn left. it sounds as if its a metal to metal contact, when im going slow its almost like a grinding noise. a lot of the noise seems to come from the driver side, the pass side seems fine.
setup:
s13 coupe 170k miles (HAD ALL ORIGINAL LINKS, RODS, ETC)
had tein coilovers, but changed them to lower mileage megan tracks
17x10 5zigen fno1rc +12 with 8 mil spacers
(ive tried lifting the car, reducing camber, using stock s14 se's, no change)
5lug (ichiba hubs) w/ 30mm iron 3z brakes
so heres what ive tried:
my car has about 170k miles, and my steering was all f***ed and making all kines of crazy noises. tried lifting, reducing camber, different wheels, still made the noise.
replaced my control arm with BRAND NEW ones (new ball joints) helped a lot, made less noise, but the same grinding noise persisted
replaced tie rods w/ tein inner and outer with new boots
got new rotors, checked my pads, they were still good. regreased the pins that the pads slide on, along with the pistons on the caliper.
replaced wheel bearings on the ichiba hubs with oem ones.
replaced tension rods with newer ones with cherry rubber bushings, and put new tension brace thats not bent (idk if that matters)
also put new tanabe sway bars w/ newer oem endlinks (idk if this makes a difference either, just putting out there)
:wtf:
any ideas guys? THANKS A BUNCH!
