What website sells high quality Carbon fiber hoods for a decent price? I was thinking about getting a carbon fiber for my 96 240 which would look awesome when i lower it. Also do you have to drill in the hood pins or is it safe without them? Any help will be great, thanks.

hood pins are mandatory...
but spend the money elsewhere...CF hood is unnecessary for the general driver...
money can be spent much more wisely..
CF hood is roughly 500-600 + for a true CF high quality one..

What do you want to do with the car? CF hood is sweet for show but if your trying to save weight gut the interior and save $600.

$500 with shipping on groupbuycenter.com make sure the dealer is selling VIS hoods....or unless you gotta get everything JDM, takakaira.com or special request with jspec.com.
Carbon fiber isn't just for show purpose. I banged up my stock hood when I had a accident, and it was harder to find a stock hood in good condition in my area for a 1997 240sx, so I just opted for a vented carbon fiber hood, since turbo is in my future. Oh and if it somehow cracks during shipping, don't have a heart attack, its just clear coat. Just get a trusty and relaible paint shop to add on another coat. $45 or less for the hook up I got with a paint shop.
With out hood pins, the hood kinda "wobbles" going faster then 60 mph since it so light. hood pins help secure it down, the 240sx top frame should have holes already drilled, just get the Sparco hood pins, throw away the screws and use...dam forgot what its called...something gun...it looks likes needles but just shoots the tip in to hold it and its more stable. The hood only needs three lil holes to hold in the err still forgot whats it called...I'll just post a pic of how my hood and hood pins are installed.

There is a noticable difference in weight savings.
IF and only if your hardcore about weight savings, because the extra bling will alert all the thieves in your general direction. Ever since I got mine people are looking at my car... I really don't like being noticed so when I sprat my bumper I think I might spray my hood too... (but the ricer inside me also likes the bling :D )
YOU NEED HOOD PINS! Unless you NEVER driver over 50, then you can probably go sans the pins and be safe...:

lol, their probably just checking out your ride, c'mon how many 240's in your area has a carbon fiber hood? Compare that number to the fixed up honda's you see daily, and you know that a 240 with a carbon fiber hood is rare, hell I took off my ehxuast just so the cops stop chasing me, and the only noticble thing you see on the outside of my car is the hood, yet every car thats fixed up the driver still stares hard. But its pointless for anyone to steal my stuff....becuase around my area ain't nothing but honda's lol. I would know right away if they tried to put my hood on a civic or something lol.
i believe what phoen x is tring to remember is "rivots". these will definately hold the hood latches to the hood. im on my second cf hood, and i would definately stay away from fiber images (from experience). i currently have a tcs hood and it is great quality and fittament. the vis hood is also top of the line. search around, i found two local shops in san diego that both quoted me $350 for the vis or tcs. best of luck!

if you want a good hood, none of that VIS or whatever crap, then it's gonna cost you about $700-$800. but you can better spend that money elsewhere, like on your car's suspension.
