So today I pulled my fender harness down to inspect why my shit was acting up, found no less then 30 regular butt splice connectors and bare wires all corroded as fuck! I think soldering should be taught to highschoolers before they are allowed to graduate.
So now I am looking for a used complete 98 fender harness, or a huge ass pile of solder and wire....
So am I the only one that has found this type of an abortion? Interested to see what others have done

Happened to my first S14, I just took it as a sign of I should extend and rerun the wires correctly, so I did just that. Re-soldered the wires and tucked them.

My current coupe was completely fucked as far as the wiring. I kept solving one thing, and another problem would happen. I finally got pissed, striped the car and went to the bare chassis harness. The guy before me had sub wires tapped into the factory grounding system and when he pulled the stereo/speakers out he just left that shit all untaped, and a mess. And just randomly cut wires all over the place. And I wondered why my car always had wiring issues.

Yup.. I got so much spliced wires throughout my car i dont even know what they are anymore! The worse was the lower harness.. the speedsensor was missing and most of the tranny sensors werent even plugged! Worst Auto to Manual swap ever..

If I would have started my car with the wiring as-is after I bought it, it probably would have started a fire.

One of the passed owners of my current hatch used the crimps to do the fuel pump! I plan on double checking the wiring of the car before it becomes a daily, so it will get fixed in time.

when i bought my 93 coupe my entire sivlia front end was done by twisting the copper and covering it with electrical tape. it then proceeded to cause an electrical fire befor i found out. this is not a joke. luckily i stopped it before it consumed the car. not to mention my entire chassis harness which i just replaced yesterday

The previous owner of my S13 cut the power wire to the Consult DLC to power the boost gauge. I thought it was why my Consult program on my laptop was not able to communicate. In retrospect, this would not matter using a laptop with its own standalone power source. I found another power source for the gauge and soldered it back in.
