Alright probally a rook question i got a stock s14 240...seems to me that it falls flat on it's face in between shifts like it's being thrown outta it's power band...can i take and raise my rev limiter as well as have the air fuel mapped out for the extra 500 rmps or so. And, if so, what can the springs and valves on the ka24 take.
On another note going to go with bolt-ons w/ the ka24...then juice. (had a lightly modded juiced civ. si and loved it) any advice as to what setup to go with.
preciate it oh and i tried doing a search on the rev limiter and no luck exactly.

okay think i'm going with the jwt ecu programing...need to know what the ka24 can SAFELY handle as far as rpms go

okay after some research found out that the jwt will run rich due to retarding timing...so in that aspect i'm all good b/c i'm eventually goin to juice the car. So in that aspect rich over lean any day due to the fear of detenation. now the only question remains is what rev's can the ka24 handle... some information on this would be great guys.

7000 rpm, I believe is what the JWT runs. No point in running it up any higher, it doesn't make any power. Ideally your shift points will be below that anyway.
If you wanna run it up higher, check ka24de.com for springs and retainers. Solid rockers might be a good idea with a more aggressive cam. You would probably want to change your oil pump as insurance, and I've heard bad things about stock rods at high RPM, so maybe some crower or pauter rods. If you are changing the rods you might as well pony up and get some higher compression forged pistons, with nitrous you will want to keep it around 9.5:1 or lower, and I'd use total seal rings. Also when increasing RPMS you will find it necessary to balance and blue print the bottom end and probably want to take a little weight off the crank.
don't forget an SFI approved flywheel and clutch!

the cam makes now power over 6?
right.....
maybe you should talk about which cam you are referring to first. Cause you can build an engine to make power whereever you want it.
