Ever buy anything on PSN with a CC, Like Points? Even if you bought your points at the store you probably lost them and any unlocks you have. Not only did they take CC info they also transferred credits and DLCs between accounts.

I changed my CC number to be on the safe side, even if it's been two years since I used it on PSN.

This will probably change they way S/W is implemented within the next gen consoles. I'm thinking of a more closed environment and quite possibly two-factor authentication being leveraged.

Apparently Sony's analysts are saying that even if the hackers have the card info, that data should be well encrypted enough that they couldn't access it. Then again these are hackers that were able to obtain sensitve info from what I've heard reported as over 700million users... so I'm not really holding my breath one way or the other. This is one reason why I'd rather just buy games and/or points at a retailer vs. online.

Like Sony said though, even if they don't have access to your card info, there's a good chance you'll be hearing from several nigerian princes and south african missionaries in the near future, so as always, be cautious.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure savvy ppl can use that info to find someone's physical mailing address. Once you have all this info, it's not too hard for them to reroute your mail to them & start obtaining account numbers & other personal info, etc...

The controller config was engineered by a bunch of idiots and the system keeps freezing, but really pissed me off was that after having it for a month it stopped reading game disc's and when it did it would freeze like a mofo. Yeah I prefer a LAN party. My uncle used to regularly host LAN parties with Ghost Recon on XBox and then GRAW on 360 We'd have one team in his garage and the other in the basement. Like 15 people. Real nerd style. Shit was so bad ass though.

I'd try playing GRAW online but the experience sucked because the people annoyed the fuck out of me. It just sucked all the fun out of it.

Then GRAW 2 wasn't all that good and we only had a few LAN parties with that game and then he kinda got burned out on FPS like I did.

Honestly I've barely played anything online since. I'd hop on and play Forza 2 and 3 with my uncle or a few other people I knew, but I don't know...a single player game is really what I enjoy. I'm just tool old school and stuck in my ways.

I guess that's why I still like Nintendo so much. Their online stuff sucks, which doesn't matter to me, and their single player franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid) still give me that solid single player gaemplay I enjoy.

I don't hate Xbox, by any means, and I love the Wii as well. I would LOVE to have Fable on PS3, and I always wanted Mass Effect, which finally happened.

Truthfully, I thought the 360 was simply a rushed, incomplete console, which is why I dislike it the way I do. It broke far too much, they charged for online play (which I thought was rediculous considering it is using MY internet to play it that I ALREADY pay for), and I was already a Playstation fan - being as my Ps2 is a day 1 console and had 0 issues.

I was also a fan of Blu-Ray compared to HD-DVD.

Doesn't mean I hate the 360, nor would I go into a XBL hacked thread and rain down hate onto that console.

What you are failing to read in my post is that I have been entering games where the whole opposing team is 10th prestige and up, either those people totally have no lives or are exploiters. With this games history more than likely they are exploiters.

I really think this was more of a flaw and not a hack. This can be exploited with a user has the same password for PSN and their e-mail...which is actually not far fetch (but not good practice). IMO, they didn't evaluate password resets via website before opening up the PSN network.

The only solution I can think of is that in combination of email and DoB, you add the serial number of the PS3 that you registered with Sony.

Okay so I messed up retrieving my free games. There's that icon that says "Free PS3 Game 1" which I clicked on and it confirmed. But instead of choosing which I wanted I pressed circle (back) and not I can't retrieve it. I did this for both PS3 and PSP :( don't make the same mistake

If that happens, it will yet again redirect you to the page to click "PS3 Free Game 1". Click it, get it, then it will take you back to game you requested, which you will then hit "download" to get.

Idk from what i found was a thing that gave me freedownloads that only totals up to like 18 titles .... and only one i would have gotten in mass effect 2 but it only lets me play 60 mins a day for a year.. and that was a deal breaker for me.
