K Here's the deal. Im going to put a 10" Alpine Type R in my S14, with a Alpine MR500 amp. Usually, i'd run the amplifier turn-on wire from the power antenna wire. This is how the P.O.'s deck was wired. but i want to get back power antenna (i want it to go down when not in use). I had an idea to make my Turn-On switch one of the buttons below the center vents (hazard, defogger). how do i make a button out of one of the blanks? :wavey:

Why not just wire it into something else that turns on with the radio?

just wire it into ur acc. on ur head unit, and u should just need to cut out or unscrew the blank

your deck should have a power antennae wire AND a remote turn on.... If it does not have both, it has ONLY a remote turn on most likely ... Power antennae is less common.
either that, or use the turn on wire to drive a relay that feeds power to both the antennae and the amp(s)

This could produce noise.

So the blue (turn-on) would generally be turn-on only, unless i was to wire a relay. Thing is, i just want a functional button with a little Alpine decal on it :x

you can get a little device from a co called PAC and or AMP of america it detects signal and self generates a amp turn on signal
