As the subject says, can anyone recomend a shop in So. Cal that can either rebuild my KA or swap in a rebuilt KA for me? I am about to reach 200K and have to make a decision soon on what to do. does anyone have any idea on cost for this to happen?

how...the...hell...could you NOT know one in So. Cal?

Im in So. Jerz ( :jerkit: ) and I found a shop....c'mone

sorry: I actually read your post this time....

I put TWO, not one by TWO, KA's in my car. Its so damn easy and will take 2 days at the most with a lift and a good friend (or a pop with a short temper, love ya dad). The only part you might have a problem with would be the bell housing....damn thing freezes up there like a sum of a bitch...

put in a rebuilt yourself, youll feel SOOOOOOOOOo good about it

No reason to rebuild when you can buy a low-mileage S14 motor from a yard for $800 MAX, shipped to your door.

Search www.car-part.com for good engines - Then swap it in (~12 hours of work, remove and replace).

Use the minimum of $400 you save on crack, hookers, and beer. Or a clutch kit. Or suspension...whatever.

Hey Styles,
Kiss my A__ __ I am relativly new to So. Cal and I do not have time to screw with doing it myself. (my work is in a very technical area so it is not a lack of being able to do it) (so more money than time unlike most 240 sx'ers) I was just looking for some recomendations from some who have experience with shops down here. Being in Jersey I doubt you do so why did you bother wasting time posting? (unless you are just a post whore) So thanks for your support here......... Is that what this forum is about or can someone get help and not get slammed? Thanks to those who offered what I was looking for.

racetep.com builds motors, including KA's -- they work on lots of Datsun and NISSAN goods.

don't know how much they are, but heard they are really reputable in terms of rebuilt import engines...

but let us know what you find, since a number of 240's are in that range of needing rebuilds (in general and for turbo) and not wanting to deal with the 'legality' and/or problems/hassles with sr's..
