rb26dett is rated at 280 at the crank which is equal to 107.6923hp per liter. the rb25det is rated at 250 at the crank which is equal to 100hp per liter. the rb20det is rated at 210hp per liter which is eqeal to 105hp per liter. so a rb24det which is a rb20det would have about 252hp at 105 per liter. remember this is stock. so a rb24det would have a little bit more power and also be able to rev higher than the rb25det. but which one would be able to handle more power. my goal is to be DIFFERENT and about 400 to the max of 600hp. now i was told to make a rb24det you need rb26 crank and rods and forged pistons. but i heard that there is a down fall with forged pistons. can anyone confirm this. also confirm about the parts needed for the rb24det. because i don't understand how these parts can just bolt up to the engine. some might say that this is pushing the engine but the rb20det can also be made into a rb30det. also how boost much can the rb series handle. i know it depends on the turbo also but i mean the block can engine handle. yeah i know by the time i finish the rb24det i should of just got the 26 or even the 25. but i just want to go the route not followed.
also i have a question about wheel size. which one is best recommended 17x7.5 or 18x.7.5. i am not doing any drifting. i just like going real fast around turns but i know it depends on the tires but will the 18's slow me down any more than the 17's weight difference is about 2 lbs per wheel.
when is it nessecary to have a wing. i like a clean look for my 240 but if a wing helps i really would like to know at what speeds do they really begin to help.

As a nice guy, I did some searching for ya.

Skyline Club (http://www.r31skylineclub.com/forum/index.php?board=8)

Meggala Quest for power... (http://www.meggala.com/modys.htm)

Meggala Engine Specs (http://www.meggala.com/nissanrb3css.htm)

from Meggala:
* RB20DET
* Bore & Stroke - Twin cam * 78 X 69.7
* Capacity - 1998
* Power - 210ps @5600 25kg's @4000
* Compression - 8.5 to 1

1 The RB20DET is the performance 2 liter engine with good allround perfromance and reliability.
2 This engine responds well to modificaton and can make 400hp with the stock bottom end.
3 It features in the R32 series of skylines both 4 door and 2 door & 4WDand came in manual or automatic.
4 The automatic like all nissans makes about 5 hp less

I've read from people with the RB20 that its bottom end won't support 400 hp, that its just something people throw around on the internet. They have had problems closer to 300 HP.

and fyi the skyline's "280HP" is more like 280 WHP compared to the other's crank HP.

Anyway of the engines you listed an rb26dett has the most aftermarket support and will be the easiest to make power on.
But if you really care about making power, some company is swapping j2z's now....

I would not try to mix two RB's unless your very good...

I see the only reason to make an RB24 is if you already have an RB20...

But its not worth the cash if you just want to mix an engine for fun...

Just go RB25... It will to the 400hp with some mods...

Or RB26 for more aftermarket stuff... And a bit easy'r to get 400hp

Does it matter that a few people have done this swap?

and wheels.... Please dont get 18x7 or 7.5's They look funny. Like pizza cutters... AKA honda wheels

I reread the post, and considered the fact he hasn't posted back I'm thinking this is a big joke...?
