So last week I noticed my drivers side rear was making a speed dependent intermittent grinding noise that would get louder and faster at speed.
I figure its the wheel bearing as its not rubbing anything ( but it doesnt shake when i try to rock it with one hand on top of the wheel and the other at the bottom )
Aside from OEM wheel bearings has anyone used SKF, Timken or Beck/Arnley?
And should I replace both rear wheel bearings at the same time?
Thanks

For wheel bearings i always keep it OEM, and you should replace both sides while your there. No need to only fix one just to have the other side go bad later down the road

if you choose not to go OEM, Timken is a great bearing, they've been around for a long time.

Ok great. I was just wondering because Pep boys/O'reillys has the timkens and Beck/Arnleys in stock which would reduce my downtime (@ 110 each). But FR Sport has oem bearings for about $260 shipped for a pair.

OEM bearings are the way to go.

Timken is probably the best.... That or NSK which is OEM....

I am not sure if I have the same problem, but I dont hear much of a griding noise, more of a ticking/clicking + grinding noise coming from my passenger front. I assume that I have to replace my bearing?
