someone i know that lives down the street from me dives (well, drove) a s13.5 240, and he blew the motor. i am concidering buying it. the body is in prety good condition from what i could tell. i havenbt taken an up close look at it yet. the interior probobly has average wear for the years. it is an auto. im not sure of miles, or anything like that. about how much should i offer for the car? im thinking somewhere around 600-800 if the body is straight. what do you guys think? i would buy it to fix and drive, either by puting a new KA in, or possibly sell my PGT and so an SR swap.

start at $500. Remember to factor in the cost of doing an auto to manual swap and stuff like that...

if i do get it i will probobly do an SR and 5speed swap. right now im not suire if he is selling it or fixing it, but im prety interested in this car, so i can have a project. if i werent going to do an sr swap, how much ould i get a KA for, and from where? im just trying to figure out what the costs would be to get this back on the road.

I've taken the approach of lowballing for any car I want to buy. I used to take the respectfull approach and offer what the car is really worth, but frankly...I don't have that much money to be nice.

Offer him 200. No jokes.

Since you said it's a s13.5, the s15 front end on it will make it worth a little more. Isn't that what s13.5 means?

i say start at $500 and no more than 900

if its an s13.5, you mean it has s15 front end right? that alone is worth a few thousand dollars depending on what route he took. if its pos conversion fenders, then probably not worth as much, but the oem headlights alone has a market value of ~$600-750.

if u mean s13.5 (s13 /w s15 fe) then you're going to be looking at a bit b/c he could part out the front end and get quite a decent sum. unless he's an idiot and doesn't know what it's worth.

if u mean s13.5 (s13 /w s14 fe) then it won't be worth quite as much. not too many people are interested in doing s14 front end conversions. but still more then a typical blown s13. the year of the s13 factors in a bit too.

a used ka24de + manual tranny will vary in price, but generally anywhere from 300 to 600. if you are lucky you find people giving them away for free, after they've swapped them out for sr's. don't forget you may be able to sell the blown ka for a little.

im sorry to confuse you guys withthat s13.5 thing. what i meant was that it is a 91-93. it does not have any conversion of any kind. its all stock.

a 91-93 /w blown motor. 1k at the most if the car is in great condition. if its not, then i would pay $500-800 for it. personally i don't think it sounds like it's worth it. around here sometimes i can find running 240s for under 2k /w manual transmission. good luck.

well i found one aroundme for 2000, but the body had damage, and the interior was crap, and the motor ran, but the oil was barely measuring, and it was black. i would rather pay 800 for a great body and interior with a bad motor, than have an all around "alright" car for 2000.

1k for a PERFECT one

no more then 1k MAX but personally i would stay below 800
my friend got one that was perfect frame/interior wise for under 800.

definitely doesn't sound like a good deal. actually around me there was a '89 coupe with 90k on the motor and pretty decent interior and exterior. price? $950!!! the guy was moving back to korea and had to dump the car in a week. i wish i had the money. what would i do with two 240's though lol. keep your eyes open and you'll find a great deal eventually.

well im about 90% sure of getting the car. il be getting it for between 300 and 400. it is a really nice car, and is worth it in my eyes. the front end was in a slight fender bender, and he said the fenders, and bumper were replaced, so the front end has nice new paint. ill get back to you guys after i get it. maybe ill get some pics of it.
