I am looking at extending my z32 maf.

I have 3 wires:

(harness) - -> (maf pigtail)
white, black and black w/white strip --> brown, red, blue

They seem to be different size wires.

My questions are:

-What size wire should I use to extend the wires from the harness to the maf?

-Will extending the wires decrease performance (I'm looking at a 11"-14" extension)?

The previous owner just used splice connectors - I will be soldering and heat shrinking the connections.

Any tips or recommendations are welcome.

I was looking at using 16 gauge wiring to extend all 3 wires.

I would just use whatever size wires the maf plug uses currently. Its not much voltage. Dont splice the sheilded wire if at all possible.

PM sent.

Should I shield the extended wires due to the length?

Yeah, if its shielded, make sure it is at least shielded withing 5 inches or so of the plug.

You don't want signals crossing/ interference.
