Got my sr20det!!!!!! but got engine only =(

i got my sr thinkin that the tranny from the ka would fit since i was broke and the engine was a good deal..n e ways is there a way to amke it fit? and where should i get my wiring done? i know this is a piontless post but i wanna brag to all u who dont have a sr yet!!!!! boo yah grandma!

unless you find sr transmission internals, you are **** out of luck. the sr transission bell housing is different from ka. you have to swap the internals from the ka to sr tranny bell housing or something like that from what i remember. it'd be easier to just get an sr tranny. i know you mentioned you didn't have any extra cash, but this would be a great excuse to get an HKS 6spd or ikeya formula sequential transmission. lol.

1) You are an idiot for bragging about getting a part that quite a few of us have. Not to mention, yours is incomplete.

2) Ikeya Formula makes a shifter attachment that converts the h-pattern to a sequential motion. It is NOT a sequential transmission.:p

Congrats on the new motor. While you're waiting for a tranny you could like. . . take pictures of it, imagine what it would look like in your engine bay. . . that'd be cool :P

You may want to take the time to check what else you might need. IE: Intake piping, intercooler, wiring harness, turbocharger. . . There's a lot more needed for the engine swap than just the longblock.

The funniest part about all this, is you're gonna be missing a TON of other stuff. A few months from now, when the thing will at least turn over, THEN come and talk smack. BTW there's quite a few of us with SR's... some with much better turbo's than stock... oh yeah... there are quite a few KA+T guys who'll had your arse to ya as well ;)

cliff notes:
- if you didn't think to get a tranny, think of everything else you're missing... have fun spending at least $1k more on random parts.

oh **** u guys thought i only have one..no i have 2 fastback ones a 89 and a 93 the 93 is a se with hicas and the 89 is what im swappin plus i drive a ranger around to carry stuff like dead bodies.... so pushin the car around is jsut for kicks!!!! haha u assholes cut me some slack...i try..not hard but 1 percent is better than non...until then ill skool u in the 93 :mrmeph: lol jp

wow you blew money on an engine that probably doesnt even work, have fun spending another 2000 on sh!t you need to get it going...heres a nice surprise, wiring harnesses cost 500 alone, have fun digging that out of the couch cushions, wannabe.

ok ok yes yes tool tool ..n e ways like u said somethin about the bell housing..i look at the ka24 de and the sr and i see that the bolt pattern is different .....u said somethin has to be done to it..i dont get it..i havent takin out the tranny from the ka yet but if ur right and wa la maybe i wont order the sr tranny from friend's shop quit yet..he is chargin me 159 is that good and he is doin my harness for90 and the intercooler he is gonna get from a probe..sounds n e good? cuz i have the time but now i need the feedback on what to do next...oh and another thing is that can u use the distributor from a sentras sr20 or do i have to get one from the rwd sr20? over all i should start orderin the parts next week and the drop should be a week after...so where do u think i should start besides takin out the ka...like how should i prep the engine? the only thing that looks awkward is the valve cover cuz it has a scratch will that effect it? and how about the power steerin hose...i looked at the 93 and the 89 and i dont see n e thing different unless there is somethin hidden.

I'd say $159 for the SR tranny is worth it...being that most junkyards wouldnt have them. I've heard talk that you can use a KA tranny with the SR if you swap the KA tranny into the SR bellhousing.....but...if you have an SR bellhousing then just probably have an SR tranny anyways.

Probe intercooler?? Maybe if it was free...for now. Otherwise..get a nice Starion/Coquest IC on ebay for like $100-$150.

Valve cover scratch isnt anything to worry about. If it bugs you sand if down and repaint the valve cover.
