The funniest time is when I went to a local Nissan dealership. I had just bought a fuel filter, and I decided to change it in the parking lot, right in front of the building. There was about five car salesmen taking a smoke break together right next to my car. I pop the hood and one of them said,"woah, those things are rear wheel drive?", on of the other salesman said,"duh, that an older 300zx."

lol!!!!! I was standing right next to Bbandit when this guy said that, I thought he was going to kick the guy in the face!!! It was soooo funny. An even funnier thing is that this quote actually came from another Zilvia member :coolugh:

So far the best quote i have seen comes from this guy over at j-body.org that was talking about how he was going to get a Silvia and put an SR20 in it. He said the following:

I never really got too many ignorant comments.. but I have schooled plenty of people out in the canyons, representin KA power.

The last incident I had was a VR6 GTI who was trying really hard, he was driving fast. Anyway, I let him pass at one point and then follow him. After hauling ass and me following him, I get next to him and he says "damn man, I thought that was a Ferrari at first.. when I saw the tail lights" .. "then I realized it was a 240, damn thats crazy." I asked the guy what his setup was, he told me it was a stock VR6 GTI with intake, springs, shocks.. 6-speed. He was pretty happy that we had a good race.. well, until I told him my car was 140HP KA24E.. and AUTOMATIC.

Yeah.. that was a funny expression on his face, kinda like he kicked himself in the ass.

Ouch, I hate it when people in places of business have no idea what they're doing. I went to a place about 1hr from me and was talking to one of the guys about suspension. I said I was thinking about going with coilovers, but I didn't know if there were any that had soft enough damping for the street. He replied that coilovers have nothing to do with damping. Aparently he was only familliar with the sleeve type units :P. Anyway, I've since found a really sweet shop and I don't have to worry about those guys anymore :).

The funny thing is, most people are completely ignorant about cars and would believe that absolutely ridiculous tale. "Japanese built Chevy"? You have GOT to be f'ing kidding me. That's even better than the "Ford Mustang GT-R" video that's floating around the Internet.

If you could get a video of this guy and his car, and get him to tell you all about his "Japanese built Chevy", I would LOVE to see it. He'd be the next laughingstock of the online car world, right up there with Bubb Rubb or that kid with the MR-2.

Hah, I actually had two retards comment on my car yesterday. First, I went to autozone to rent a brake caliper kit for my rear pistons. As I was leaving one of the employees came flying out the door and said, "Oh, it's left hand drive, but nice foglight conversion." I didn't know what to say to that. Then later in the day, I went to Pepboys to get my rotors turned and after telling the guy what kind of car it was he asked me if I had done the swap. I said no, and he kept asking "well, why not?" I actually haven't gotten a lot of stupid comments about my car from drivers on the road. But then again, my car is not flashy at all.

The first one was this kid in a B15 SE-R (not Spec V) with a weld on muffler was revving at me, so we slow down for this light and it goes green before we got there, so I dropped it into second and go flying by him to the top of second, and let off. He pulls up next to me and motions for me to roll down my window.

HIM: "what stage turbo do you have in there?"
ME: "ummmm..... 0, stock, hairdryer, whatever"
HIM: "i know you've got a turbo, I can hear it whistling"
ME: "kthxbye!"

Then I was at this little meet up at a beach (which will go unnamed) in southern california and I was talking to this decently informed guy about 240's and I had my hood popped. Well this kid walks over to my car and leans over my passenger fender looking at my engine (specifically the intake manifold)...

HIM: "wheres the turbo?"
