These coilovers are amazing. I installed them along with my SPLparts rear upper camber arms. I have a 8/6 spring rate and I feel like I could up the spring rate to a 9/7. That is how comfortable they are. I have the front set to 7/13 stiff and the back set to 19/22 stiff and the ride has some nice oversteer. Can someone confirm that the front is 13 way adjustable and the back is 22 because that is what the guy at Apex told me when I called them up. These get rid of so much sway but I still feel like I could use some beefier sway bars. The ones on my car don't really cut it for me. I think a HICAS sway bar is the next thing I'm going to get or maybe some whiteline. Tomorrow I'm going to install my SPL parts tension rods, tein tie rods, and my HICAS rack. I'll give a little review of this later. Here are the stories.

Story #1

After working on my car for a million hours straight, it was late and I decide it's time to take these things and test them out in a canyon near my house. I go up the hill and don't push it to any extremes. I didn't break it loose at all and because the car rides so flat through the turns, the tires didn't even come close to squealing. I talked to my neighbor who is in his truck and we comment how going back down is a little more dangerous and that we usually don't drive fast going down, sooo off we head down the hill. Driving slowly we pass the first turn and I notice a car with flip up headlights. I see it pulling over to the right of the road as if it's going to park, which a lot of people do on this road. As I pass it, I notice 4 round lights on the back and I realize it is a red FC and he is flipping a bitch. I pretty much know what's going to happen next so I slow up for him. He passes my friend who is driving in the truck and gets right on my ass. Overcome by the fact that this has never happened to me in my life and that I just put on a million dollars in suspension products I decided that it is time to have some fun. I was really nervous at first because I have never raced anyone on a mountain road before or on a normal road for that matter. I didn't really let it turn into a hardcore race because I kept it slow on the straights. We take the first turn and all I hear behind me is tires screaming. This guy is either getting initial D style on my ass or he almost lost it. My neighbor in the truck who was behind him said that the guy almost lost it but he doesn't know anything about the sport of drifting so I can't be sure especially since a couple turns later, I heard the exact same noise and nothing bad happened to him. We then take a few more turns and he always would get right on my ass during the straights. While I was just using my lane for the most part, he was using the opposing lane, at least I think he was. We get to the bottom and I wave him to pull up but he just busted past me. I really wanted to talk to the guy to find out how often he comes here and if in fact he really was drifting behind me. All I know is that the car handled like a champ but I really didn't get too crazy considering I am not accustomed to the settings of the coilovers. Overall, it was an insanely exciting experience messing around on a mountain road with someone that you ran into by complete coincedence. There were no other cars on the road and I really didn't gas it too much on the straights so I didn't have to be under hard braking when setting up for the turns. This little occurrence was more like a sporty drive with a friend rather than a hard core race down a hill but helped me to test out the suspension a little more than what I did going up the hill.

Story #2

So I'm a sub for the local school district and I go to pull into one of the local junior high parking lots. I'm already under a little stress because I was running late to work. The ramp is steep so I try to take it at an angle. This did not work. The back wheel lifted off the ground due to the stiff suspension and I start peeling out right in front of the whole school with kids and parents watching. Fortunately the principle didn't see it otherwise I would have been screwed. It was pretty embarassing but I just backed up and parked on the street.

Anyone else have any interesting or embarassing stories like this?

And sorry for the long post.

-Chris

yeah, after writing that long ole piece I was too lazy to write a review in the review section. I'll get to it today. Plus I need to do a full on alignment before I can really tell the full potential of these suckas.

Hey Choad, there's this cool new website called google.com.
it's amazing. if you type in words describing what you're looking for, it'll give you links to websites that match those words! Then, by searching those websites, you can find out neat information like addresses and phone numbers!

eh he he he.....I really want to me you sometimes MrMeph. I can only imagine your personallity offline. Bet your actually a pretty nice person when your not hanging out the search card...

I was interested in the N! dampers, but the upper mount dealy scared me away. I will probably stick to the plan and get the FLT 2's from JIC come next summer.

yeah, i'm a totally nice & patient guy offline. :)
I think even James would like me.

Upper mount thing? Sounds like you're thinking of the World Sports how you have to reuse stock upper mounts. N1 doesn't have that issue.

no shit? Awsome. How, in your opinion/experience, do they stack up against the FLT A2's?

The N1 Dampers have a larger piston body and most people consider them to be a better coilover then the FLTA-2. It's kind of agreed upon that the N1 Pro Damper, Kei Office XKR, and Cusco zero 2 are about on the same level. GOOD SHEEIT.
