View Full Version : Say Goodbye to 'lil Red S14

Well, my 'lil Red is saying goodbye to me. I put an ad on Autotrader Wednesday night, and on Thursday night at 10pm, I got a phone call from a guy in OKC (about 1 1/2 hrs from me) called - very interested in my car. He and his mom came to see it today, and said they wanted to take her away from me. So, on Tuesday, 10/14, she's going to say goodbye.
This is the first car I've ever bought on my own and have had it for 2 1/2 years, 33k miles. I'm ready for a different car, but getting rid of 'lil Red is hard - so much time and money put into her, and I never got to do any fun mods :(
By the way, I sold her for $7500 - the kid had a red S14 base model that was just totalled 2 weeks ago (lady pulled out in front of him) and couldn't find a single one with less than 120k miles w/in like 200 miles of his home. He and his mom fell in love with her. He had the timing chain replaced and fixed oil leaks on his, and when he saw that I had already done all of that, he was soooo excited! I really hope she's going to a good home - I think she is. He had his other red one for 2 years and cried when he found out it was totalled.
Does anybody have any last words for her before she leaves me? lol Thank you for your time :)

We're going to go look at a '94 Z32TT this weekend. We looked at it a few weeks ago, but the guy was asking too much $$$$ ($16900). He called me back this week and said he and his wife got her a new car and really needed to sell the Z32 and the Bimmer, so he was knocking the price down to $12900. So, we'll probably wind up buying it this weekend or early next week (whenever I get a check from the finance company to give to him).
Only problem with this 300ZX - IT'S NOT RED!!!!!!!! It's that deep forest green metallic, which is still very nice, but I WANT RED!!!!!!!! LMAO j/k

Thank you for the compliment. I'll admit - it was hard for me to get her all detailed up last night and realize that it's because she won't be with me much longer. She's absolutely beautiful inside and out. But, it's time for something a little different for me.
Yeah, the grille was stock. I've actually been asked that quite a few times. I'm thinking maybe it was just a '96 grille.

LOL - I'd get so many jokes if I used that screen name - jokes about titties, I'm sure
The shop's going well. His business is starting to pick up. What sucked was that DynoJet had a 3-week delay in getting his dyno to him - that's 3 weeks longer than the original 3 weeks it was supposed to take. In that time, another dyno shop opened up in town. So, there are two, when there used to be none. It's been tough, but luckily we know a huge crowd of racers that are quickly spreading our shop's name around town, so many of them are leaving the other shop and coming to us. He's still pretty dead during the week, but we get slammed with club days on the weekends. But it's a total blast.
Funniest part was when I started talking to this guy about this Z32TT, and I mentioned that we had a dyno shop. His voice lit up and he then offered to make the 30mile drive to our shop to show us the car. It dyno'ed at 328rwhp and 371rw torque (it's had some mods done to it, but has every bit of 380-400 after proper tuning - JWT ECU, boost controller, boost jets & bigger turbos).
We looked at this car about 3 weeks ago, but the guy wanted $16900 for it, and we didn't feel comfortable paying that much for the car. He apparently found a great deal on a new car for his wife, and it came down to him selling his BMW 540i AND the Z. He called me on Monday 10/6 and said he'd sell it to me for $12900. Needless to say, we're trying to get the loan right now......lol
I'm still going to miss the versatility of my S14. It's just too nice of a car to keep for a daily driver for winters, rains, etc. I couldn't beat on her like that.

You are also gonna miss bieng able to stick your hands in your engine bay and having them not get stuck, or having to snake them around to get to things :p .
Have fun with that Z.
LOL and about the name, I didn't even notice that, my hormones must be taking a quick nap, the 94 kinda makes ya think :)

LMAO - I actually graduated high school in '94, too. Or maybe it could be my TTZ's weight 94 ounces? LMAO
Yeah, we're definitely going to learn a lot about how NOT to scratch the crap out of ourselves just changing the oil filter - wait, I already have that problem w/ my S14......lol
It will definitely be a learning experience for both of us. What we're actually going to do is: I'm going to buy this modified one. Then, when Chris sells his WS6 Trans Am, he'll buy it from me when I find a non-modded one. That way, I get used to the car, then when he buys it, he can finish the mods and tune it correctly and make it insanely fast - he won't let me do that for my own car and I don't blame him.....hehe It'll give me a boost in my credit - paying off my S14 loan now, then paying off my TTZ in about 6 months or so.

LMAO - somewhat fits my car, too! It took me 3 months to get my front bumper painted (I work at a bodyshop and we were too busy for any of the guys to be able to do side-jobs). lol

LMAO - you know it doesn't bother me. I've been broken in by all the chick jokes in the past 2.5 years.......lol
The best part of yesterday's test drive was getting pulled over and getting a ticket....I downshifted and gave it some gas while going up a hill. The turbos (which I'm TOTALLY NOT used to....lol) kicked in right as a cop came over the hill - speedo said 68 (in a 60). S H I T!!!!! In most normal towns, this wouldn't be a problem. Of course he pulled around, pulled me over, and said he clocked me doing 74mph (I guess the 18" wheels DID throw the speedo off a little! lol). But he was really cool - he understood we were on a test-drive, but also noted that the tags expired in August (DOH!!). He said he had to give me a ticket, and to take my seatbelt off. WTF???? He gave me a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt ($20 fine and doesn't go on my record). That was awesome considering he could have ticketed me $85 for the speeding...lol Very interesting testdrive to say the least!!!

so he gave you a seatbelt ticket as the excuse to pull you over and notice the tags instead of the speeding? lol thats great!

LOL - yeah - this town is a coptrap from hell, too! I can't believe he was that nice to me!
Well, the S14 is gone now  Her new owner came & picked her up today and gave me a nice $7500 check :) Too bad I only get $1100 of it after paying off my loan, but oh well - there's the money for tag, tax, title, and school loans......lmao
I think she's going to a pretty good owner - his previous S14 was a base model & he lowered it, put Injen intake, oil pressure regulator, exhaust, and a nice stereo in it. He says he'll do the same to her - give her nice rims, Injen intake, lower a bit and a nice stereo, to start out with. He seems to know quite a bit about the S14 (he had one for 2 years before hand - so no "bandwagon-jumper" here :) ), so I think she'll be OK. I'll admit - I cried
Now, let's all pray that my loan goes through for the Z32TT tomorrow :crossesfingers: :)
whateverjames
