Sudden elec. issues, all lights flickering

Out of nowhere my stock s14 started having some strange electric issues that seem to be getting worse. Now all the lights on the car (headlight, tails, cluster, radio, dome, etc) flicker constantly, gauges go crazy, airbag light intermittently blinking, and most recently intermittent bogging. The issues only happen when the car is running, with the engine off but headlights on everything seems fine but the second I start it the symptoms come back. The fact that the issues are so wide spread and global makes me think alternator but it seems to be charging the battery fine. Maybe ECU? Other ideas?

I think your alternator is probably going. Definately take it in to autozone to get it test.

I hope it is the alternator, that would be easy. I guess I've never had an alternator go bad and never heard of one causing these types of issues.

yeah, once alternators start going bad in these cars it seems like Dec 21, 2012 in the car and everything starts going nuts,
