how much psi on a s15 turbo should put me close to 300hp? i just got my turbo on and im going to the dyno but i need an idea of where to set my boost conroller so i dont have to waste a bunch of runs.

also depends on your other mods...a stock sr will require higher boost to acheive the same hp output that a modified sr can attain at less boost..

so it's all relative..

set it at 12psi, to be safe, and go from there...if you're looking to be thrifty a Dyno session may not be for you...it takes time to dial in a car..all cars are different..all react differently...i promise you yours will be unique..so advice you receive may be worthless..

good luck

At 15psi on a stock motor it's only a matter of time til something fries, and at 17-18 psi that turbo is blowing hot air.

if thats what suits u. but i can tell u evry time i went to the track i was boosting 17-18 lbs all day and on the way home as long as i had race gas i did this alot and ran my car hard. ran 12.7 @110 @ 18lbs i pulled a 314 and 299 tourque. as for hot air dunno were your getting that info from. this is not true. even hevythrottle on there site is says this turbo's efficiancy is good to 15-18lbs.

Untrue... I have an S15 turbo... I boosted 15psi daily for all summer with 18psi for drag racing... No problems whatsoever.

I did 11k km this year, with regular auto-x and drag racing. I tested my compression yesterday: 140-140-135-135. I don't believe that there is a problem. I've known people running 20 psi of simple T28 (I know it's not efficient) for 2-3 years and they had no problems. Now you're allowed not to believe me but this is a tried method and I'm confident this car will be running for years to come in this setup.

Well, I can only hope that you're right cuz I also have an S15 motor with that very same turbo so if you're right and I'm wrong, I'll be a happy driver. However, it doesn't seem like a safe setup to run if I want to keep my car as healthy as possible.

Just install some gauges and be sure to watch them. :) That's what I did.

I may also be wrong, but for the moment, it's still pulling hard. I've been running 11 psi daily though in the last few weeks (I don't feel like I need more power than that)

Yea, I think i'll just run it at about 12-13 on a daily basis as soon as i get a boost controller. I might do a dyno pull at 17 once to see what's up :D
