Anyone know how to make these or where they can be purchased? I've been looking online all night and only find the hanging lanterns.

Any help is appreciated, I want to use these for my upcoming wedding.

Thanks a fudging'lot

If i remember my culture correctly......

I believe the floating lanterns are indeed only for the dead...

They're made from paper just like the cylinderical hanging ones but sometimes are more of a box style with paper walls. I think the lamp sits on a wood piece and it floats.

Enjoy this super jdm DIY....

well traditionally they are made by the family of the deceased. if they are mass produced by anyone nowadays i have not heard of it. do you have a mitsuwa or something by you? an asian supermarket with a little asian mall around it may have a crafts store or something of the like that might build something similar for you. otherwise i suppose you would have to build them yourself. congrats on ur wedding btw :)

i've seen a few at those trendy furniture stores, sorry can't think of the names off the top of my head. never knew they were for funerals or the deceased heh. very nice location for your weddings though, osaka garden. looks real nice.

Dude you gotta get to the caverns in Tenshu and eliminate all the spirits and you will be able to find some. Hope this helps!

On a side note, I firmly believe that Karate Kid 2 is one of the greatest movies of all time and I can quote the whole damn thing. The soundtrack is amazing and it is sad that Bill Conti felt that it should only be in the movie, rather than also being sold as a soundtrack in stores. Karate Kid 2!!! RESPECT!!!

Maybe you might find em at Mitsuwa by Busse Woods. I know its mainly food, but from the little I've seen they have a few other little things in there.

Otherwise Chinatown probably is the best choice.
