Hello Everyone

I was fortunate to try Circuit Sports DIS before many people and I would like to share my review on this product after using few weeks.
Circuit Sports came up with this product at very affordable price and offers more feature than other HKS Twin powers such as "Failsafe mode" in the event if amp failed, the ignition system will return back to OEM normal state without any drivability or stalling issues.

Product : Circuit Sport Direct Ignition System
Install difficulty : 1 out of 5

1.This is how looks like when you purchase the Circuit Sports DIS.
There are main Circuit Sports DIS unit, power cable, mounting hardwares and plus you need get harness for your specific engine. Of course in my case I got harness for SR20DET (S13,S14)

2.First unplug coilpack harnesses on your engine. In my case, I took it out completely to organize afterwards

3.Plug Circuit Sport DIS Harness to coilpacks

4.Plug stock coilpack harness to Circuit Sport DIS Harness

5.Now it is time to install power cable. Power cable needs to connect to battery directly but since I relocated battery, I decided to connect "Red" wire to power distribution block and "Black" wire to chassis ground.

6.Install the main unit in your engine bay somewhere and plug coilpack harness, power cable to main unit. You could use hardwares came with but, I put it by fuse box with ziptie due to undecided permanent location for main unit.

7.Since there are extra wires and plug over coilpacks, I was not sure if coilpack cover would fit, but I was able to put it just fine.

It was very easy installation period.
Wayne from Phase2motortrend gave me instruction but wish it came with instruction manual for other users.

Product Review
My first impression with Circuit Sport DIS is very satisfied.
I noticed lot of power gain on low end rpms and very quicker respond.
I was not sure how it would effect my car since I already had tune with Power FC.
VERY VERY VERY Amazing difference after !! I wish I could do Dyno test to see how much power I gained and how it effect my power band.

Can't wait till next event and go all out !!!

Thanks to Wayne @ Phase2MotorTrend again !!!

Splitfires are over a hundred dollars more but come with brand new coil packs. Wonder what the best way to go would be. The cs is cool because it has a fail safe. But can the stock oem coilpacks handle the increased volts safely for extended periods of time ?

Any updates??

Sorry. I completely forgot about this.

So it's been 8~9 month since the install. Car feels as strong as day 1. and no failure.

However, I notice insane batter drainage. after leave car parked 4~5days, battery get completely drained. Not sure if CS DIS is causing it or not. but I will investigate to see whats going on.

I haven't had a chance to attend any drift events unfortunately nor I have plan to do so because I sold my car to good friend of mine and I am afraid to damage it.. haha

I am picking up new shell for track purpose only.. wont be pretty. But at least I dont have to worry about damaging it or crashing it..

But ! I will continue using CS DIS in my new car as well !

Review goes on !

Since you aren't driving your car often, why don't you cut power to the unit and see if it is causing the battery drain issue or not?

I'm interested in this if the performance increase is justifiable and it isn't only a butt dyno thing or something.
