I drive and s14 and have some issues with headroom. I plan on buying a Sparco Evo and mounting it directly to the floor in an attempt to increase my headroom by maybe an inch or two. But...if that doesn't do the trick, I'm trying to think of other ways to increase headroom.

You may say sell the 240 i have now and buy one without a sunroof but that's not an option. Is it even possible to remove the sunroof, weld in a metal sheet in its place and put the sunroof-less headliner in the existing headliner's place? Or, are there extra supports in the roof of a car with a sunroof that would prevent this from being possible?

If anyone knows right off hand how much headroom I would gain from bolting a sparco evo directly to the floor, please tell me. I know there are about 2-3 inches of space between the bottom of my stock seat and the floor.

Thanks

-Mike

is the room needed at all times?..or just when racing, etc, when you are wearing a helmet?

if it's for racing...just open it..lol..i don't see it being worth the removal hassel and expense otherwise...

The head room would be nice at all times. I have my seat reclined and it's not really a very comfortable driving position. I NEED headroom.

that sucks...hmm..i know i've heard people talking of doing it before but i'm not sure if i know of anything concrete that has been accomplished and within a reasonable budget...

I would try the rx7club.com forum... If i remember properly, quite a few of the FC owners over there have delt with this issue.

I would think it'd be a matter of sheet metal and bondo....
