even with a g37 next to it... it makes your 240 stand out more and street market request, its worth stealing the 240 than the g37.

I dont park in sketch areas and plan out routes, stay smarter/one step ahead of potential thieves. If I do, for some unforeseen reason I can not avoid it... I would go out of my to park under streetlights, remove fuses, etc.

Truth!

My jeep had an alarm, kill switches and you needed a special key to start it, they took it like nothing, without breaking the windows or leaving any marks...

My 240 has alarm, kill swithces and QR but i know if a thief wants a car they will take it no matter what.

i'm not understanding the whole idea of car theft.

either- you are can be easily stolen within minutes because it's that easy, or- someone else has been planning for a long time to steal your car. is that really the whole idea?

here in miami 90% of the car that they stole.. they do it with tow truck.. options for that is.. have an alarm that you can hear and go after ur car " Fast " lol. but my best choice is lowjack.. as soon as they get the car you will be notified by text and u can track your car.
kill switchs.. quick release steering wheel... that dosnt work for shiiiii.

" lowjack the best " and the most expensive. lol

Lowjack is one of the better option, if you know your car is stolen.

Took your car when you are sleeping, then strip it in less than 3 hours. Sure, they will find your car, but what was left?

The only way to eliminate this problem is not owning one in the first place.

what are you talking about? sex on wheels? its a shitty old car. you think i get a hardon everytime i see a busted up s13, or even a clean modified one?

and what are you talking about ripping the ignition out? thats amateur night. a real thief uses a shaved key or a tow truck, only an amateur attempts to fuck with wiring.

ravelco for the ignition and a boot for leaving it over night/long times.

If you make it hard enough thieves usually don't want to waste the time stealing it. Lowjack is only good if there is sufficient police support in that area, if only a few cops have lowjack then good luck finding your car in time.

why dont you just chain your stock towhook to the front wheel? Lol

lowJack, the gps one, expensive but worth it, sure they can take the car while im sleeping but i get notified by them my car was taken and the gps part tracks every thing, every stop and final standing place so if they take parts and dump the car most likely like i was told, they take it to their garage or a friends garage someone is getting caught.

not to mention alarm, cameras, ect, i wanna keep my car.

LoJack is pretty much a thing of the past. You can simply add a Viper Smart Start GPS to a compatible Viper alarm or remote start/alarm and have way more features.

So if you only wanted a Viper security with the Smart Start, then you could do either the Viper 3203 or 3303 with the GPS Smart Start. This will give you a 2-way standard security system along with the ability to arm, disarm, panic, aux from your smart phone.... at any distance. Then you will also receive 2-way notification on your phone of these actions. If any sensor is triggered it will notify you on your phone instantly. With the GPS, it will

VEHICLE LOCATOR: Press a button on your smartphone and receive vehicle’s current location, plus speed if it’s moving.
SOCIAL CHECK-IN: Text or e-mail your car’s location just by pressing a button, or check-in to update your social network.
SPEED ALERT: Receive notification if a family vehicle exceeds your specified setting.
LOCKDOWN ALERT: Receive notification if your vehicle is moved without your OK.
LOW BATTERY ALERT: Receive notification if your car battery drops below a safe threshold.

For an extra $20/year you get these features:

SMART FENCE: Creates a secure zone around your vehicle so you’ll be alerted if your vehicle leaves the zone
HOTSPOT: Adds a virtual Do Not Enter zone around a location so you’ll be alerted if your vehicle goes there
SCHEDULING: Schedule time frames and curfews for notifications

Let me know if you have anymore questions. There are a lot of options, models etc. and most consumers tend to be incorrect in their assumptions about the Smart Start and its features. I personally have it on my Acura TL. I mostly use it for remote starting so I can start it from any distance.

Exactly! Although the only thing I don't want stolen are my VS-KF's in -17/-4 trims since they were worth more than any other part on the car collectively as well haha and thats probably the first thing thats gonna go even with state of the art security... there are many ways to deter them locks, switches, motion sensors, cell phones, tilt sensors, guns, painball guns are a better option imo hurts when shot in the face but won't kill. I , on the other hand, will hurt you till you die! don't take my $4!t obviously the thief doesn't thinktey'll get caught, or the consequences. So let them get what they deserve!

If you are worried about the wheels specifically, then you would want to add a digital tilt sensor along with one of the Viper alarms. The digital tilt will self calibrate every time you arm it. So even if you park on an angle, it will use that angle as it's default setting when it's armed and still trigger anything over a 2-degree lift. This will obviously also trigger if someone tries to flatbed or tow it

I will look more into this (thanks for posting this up by the way). As for flatbed stories, my friends 2K was stolen like that. He had some serious parts on it too :(

They broke into his mothers car for the garage door opener, used it and then wheeled the car out and onto a flatbed (He had pulled the ECU).

because the methods im seeing more now is just tow truck/ flat beding. Its sad but thats how shady n crafting/sneaky thieves have become. They research on all the new security methods people try to put on their cars to slow them down, but with just a tow truck/flat bed, any car is gone in a finger snap. Then stripped.

well..i got the alarm from a friend for $150 .. including lot of extras. like Viper 791XV 2 way alarm with 1 2 way pager / remote
Upgraded alarm to pager antenna (works almost 2 miles away)
shock sensor (adjustable)
backup battery
Viper GPS tracking system
Window breakage sensor / microphone (adjustable)
AMP relay
Thru window GPS sensor
XRCS relay pack
457G GM interface for alarms/lighting/audio (horn)

Oh, I didn't realize you had some old ass shit, never mind. The GPS system you are getting is VERY old.... it's nothing like what I'm talking about in this thread... the 791 is also pretty old. So obviously I can't beat pricing on old, used, discontinued stuff.... I assumed you were getting new items since you said you "ordered" it. My bad, carry on!;)

Hell, I'm not even sure if they support the old GPS systems anymore. Get a part # off of it and I'll try to find out for you.

I didn't send anything in the PM to him because he didn't ask me anything. I simply asked him what he wanted to discuss. So just post in my Viper for sale thread if you have questions or send me a PM with your questions.

You will also be able to find all pricing in the for sale thread. Keep in mind, I'm sometimes a little flexible on pricing. I will always match or beat any authorized dealer pricing. But I won't always if it's some Amazon/Ebay seller doing business out of his garage/warehouse. Those people are not authorized, do not know the product and couldn't help you if their life depended on it. I take a little pride in my customer service and knowledge of the product.... hell, I trained my local sales rep on the Viper product he sells me:D I also discount for multi-item purchases.

I park my car up in a shop behind my house, threw a locked gate with a car in front of the gate.

In the locked shop. My car sets ON JACK STANDS, with no jack, nor wheels anywhere in site.

Then I take the ecu, and some fuses out.

Then I hit some kill switches.

..That is all i do..

I mostly use it for remote starting so I can start it from any distance.

do you have to pay a monthly fee or anything on that? i want that definatally.

I used to have different lock cylinders so ignition key didnt work in any of the exterior locks. Worked well enough to keep thieves out and it kept me out for a while as well!!

I think people who have their cars stolen with a hub lock on your quick release you must of had an nrg lock. I have seen people use random styled keys work in them. Buy a works bell. I am sure if anyone wanted to jack your shit then they would.

Just be lucky you dont drive a street bike. They steel them with the greatest of ease. I know they do two things, throw an old matress in a van and have to big guys roll up pick the bike up with bars and throw it in the van, and then they carry an extra ignition and they just rip the wires off your bike , and wire them to a different ignition.

As far as my car, works bell hub, quick release, and kill switch, I still want an alarm, and I park my car in the garage and the garage door opener is always on me, not in my moms car.
