View Full Version : Original RPM doesn't work after my swap

I swap a ka24de in a 1990 everything is OK except my RPM, someone got a idea on this ? Can I fixe it or I have to put a brand new one on the dash ?

you need to use a DOHC tach.

yeah thats what I've heard too.
It isn't possible to use the sohc speed sensor instead though, is it?

Not sure on the speed sensor ?, but on my SR swap I didnt swap speed sensors and I am using a 180sx gauge cluster. I had to swap in my odometer b/c the one in the clip didnt have one (weird). My odo/trip meter read out in (Mile), and the gauges read out in KPH. I would just go ahead and install some 91-93 gauges.

it's not a matter of the speed sensor, but rather the signal output from ECU.

NO no no no no no you do not need a DOHC tach.

Cut i believe the wires going to pins 2 and 3 in the ecu and splice them together. They are both yellow/red stripe. I have been using a SOHC tach with a DOHC and it works fine.
