I just checked over all couplers and piping and no holes or anything and i have a hks ssqv III but when i drive, typically near entering boost, there's a whistling sound...
It sounds like a have a huge turbo spool but i know what my turbo spooling sounds like and its not this. I can't determine why its making the noise, my gaskets are all pretty new in the turbo vacinity and it holds boost fine and still pulls. I just don't know.

how are the necks coming off of your turbo assuming you have a t25, or t28. I have a slight leak by my outlet neck due to a stripped hole. Guess the silicone finally gave LOL.

check the turbo gasket from turbo to manifold

that's the turbo itself it seems
it may have a piece of a fin missing on rear of t25 from leaning out
or the thrust bearing inside turbo is on last leg

Hey this is happening to me too! Not trying to thread jack but I would like to find out what the noise is also. It whistles when entering boost and my boost gauge only reads 5psi when the waste gate is 7psi. t25 on a ka.

I would check turbo inlet and the turbo outlet gaskets.

Checked my gaskets and they look fine
It's a t28 journal bearing turbo that's rebuilt with an hks ssqv III so no eBay here
I checked the turbo before I put manifold and everything on and everything was good so I just don't know thanks for some of the tips

Yeah deff a boost leak around the turbo and manifold. It just has to be a little loose and it'll whistle Dixie. Sounds like the turbo is about to die.

^^^ ditto

check for any shaft play. Mine made the same noise when it was on its way

Check around where the hotpipe connects to turbo and the actual inlet pipe that connects to turbo .. the 3 bolt one? My bolts were loose on that and i had the same noise. Also check for missing nuts on the 4 bolt gasket where the manifold and turbo meet. And make sure ur bov is closed all the way, if you put your hand over the bov the idle will change if theres a leak. i had a vac leak from there all u gotta do is just turn the allen fitting on the bov to the right.. haha good luck sorry if you already knew this just tryin to help!

okay i hooked up a boost leak/vacuum tester it was from the smallest ever hole in a lower coupler lmao wow
but i sealed up everything and replaced coupler with no leaks following and now when i drive it has the symptoms of a boost leak, it was running fine before....sputtering super bad at low rpms, misfiring, pausing and catching itself every 2 seconds like dead spots in throttle unless i constantly increase speed

Thank you for input guys I really appreciate it
