I sent tein an email this afternoon but realized its night time over there and they wont be back in shop until monday, so i've come to the forums to try to get an answer.

This question has been asked before but I cannot find a concrete answer.

I have a 93 s13 with z32 brakes/hubs/diff in the rear. Currently I'm running Cusco type-s's with stock s13 knuckles (eye mount). I have z32 aluminum uprights/knuckles waiting in the garage. I plan to install the knuckles when I buy new coilovers, which brings me to this question: If i buy used tein flex's with standard "eye mounts" can i change the mount (with a bracket or simply replacing) to the required fork mounts on the z32 knuckles?

i know tein builds s13 coilovers with fork mounts. I also know theres quite a few companies making brackets to use z32 uprights with their standard eye mount coils.

all this hassle stems from the fact that I can buy used tein flex's for 800 dollars with a spare set of springs (with standard eye mounts), but would be forced to pay 1700+$ to have the same setup new (with fork mounts). If i can spend 200$ on brackets or retro fitting I'd still save 700 in the long run, and lets face it 700$ could buy me quite a few things I'd like to add to the build.

oh, and the reason i want to install z32 knuckles is so i'll have a usable e-brake since the s13 ones dont work with my 30mm calipers.

I dont think Tein sells the lower mount alone....at least they didnt when i inquired a few years ago.

you have other options you can have a "fork" mount welded to the lower mount.

or

you can use stock s13 rear upper.

i dont understant you last statement?? rear z32 brakes arent 30mm and ebrake will work with both z32 and stock s-chassis upper. both stock ebrake and z32 ebrake.

I thought you could only get the z32 ebrake to function if you had z32 knuckles and z32 brakes? I distinctly remember people telling me I'd need to upgrade to the z32 knuckles if i wanted my ebrake to work as it is currently non-functional. I remember hearing about brackets i could purchase to make things work correctly.

my calipers must not be 30mm, i just pulled the number out of my ass since i cant measure them right now.

by upper do you mean upper mount on the knuckles? or...

i have z32 ebrake on stock s13 rear uprights.

stock rear upright has nothing to do with ebrake. the hole for the kingpin anchor is in the stock upright

front caliper is eithor 26 or 30mm depending on year.

so what might have spurred people saying i need z32 knuckles to make the ebrake work? I just dont know why my mechanics would have left me w/o an e-brake unless it meant spending more money to get it to work.

i probably needed to purchase: Z32 rear dust shield with Inner drum brake and E-brake cables since i have z32 hubs already

im pretty sure all of my hardware is off of the same non turbo 300zx, but if for some reason my brakes came off a turbo car i'd run into problems. Im pretty sure theyre 30mm up front which would mean it could have come off a turbo car. my mechanics told me they tried fitting the drum and shield on but it simply wouldn't mate up so they left it off until the next time the car came in for long term work.

edit:
after reading every 300zx brake swap thread, it must have been built up corrosion that stopped my guys from being able to install the ebrake. positrons thread on nico was a huge help.
