where is the best place to put a wideband at? i have mine on the downpipe right before the turbo...my readings keep giving 11.5 at idle. could this be because its too close to the turbo? how about right before the flex pipe?

I honestly think it dosent really matter because when your on a dyno it picks up a/f readings from the muffler. Stock sr20 are suppose to idle lean though.

That would be fine if he wasnt idleing rich.

Most instructions say to mount it a few feet after the turbo and between 10 and 2 o clock so that the moisture that builds up in the exhaust doesnt ruin the sensor.
Do you have yours in the o2 oulet?

put it at the back of the downpipe or in the test pipe

+ 1 it should go on the down pipe before the cat/test pipe or on the test pipe. it might be because you have it too close to the turbo.

What the last two said. It's, technically, supposed to be right before the test pipe but in the front of the test pipe works as well. You've got yours too close to the turbo.

well there is a bung on my downpipe right before the turbine house so i thought it would be easier to put it there for access. i also have another bung down further right before the flexpipe on my down pipe that i have plugged off with a bolt and gasket. i just have to extend the wiring and set it there. thanks guys for the input :)

12 to 24 inches away from the turbo.

You mean after the turbine housing right? That's for the factory o2 sensor. But yeah, use the one before the cat/test pipe.
NEVER put a wideband O2 before the turbo. It will not read correctly due to the higher pre-turbine pressure since it is reading the partial pressure of O2 in the exhaust.
Always put it around 12-36" behind the turbine. For hard driving I recommend 24-36" back.

this stuff is funny lol...
the one right after the turbo is for the stock 02 sensor for the ecu.. if you are using an aftermarket wideband as well, put it about 12-36" back.. nothign closer than that though, and deff before a CAT if you are running one.
