Ok, if nissan people hate all things honda...what does everyone else hate? Mitsubishi vs Dodge? Mazda vs. Subaru? Is Toyota the Swiss of this war?
Anyone know what other car rivalries exist?
And although Nissan people hate Honda people...its not the other way around. Honda owners think they are so cool that everyone likes them.

Hahaha! I really don't think Nissan hates Honda. There is certain rivarly as far as sales go (Nissan Altima vs. Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry) and such... but there are companies that do rip other companies' ideas on design and features off in hope to better their sales... How pitiful...

anyone who hates a 'car' has problems. but i do believe it's true that most honda people look at us as 'different' in a good way. i can't hate a car company that makes 'some' good cars. nissan makes 'some' good cars, can't hate them. ya, i got my nissan pride, but i don't take it seriously like some folks

I am a die hard Toyota fan but shhhh don't tell any one. I also work for Toyota. The thing is, for the price Nissan had for what I wanted vs. Toyota. I wanted RWD and a great car to work on. For RWD and a good body from Toyota i would have been looking at a 92 MR2 Turbo.... ahhh my old dream car but like I said that would have beed any where from 7-10 grand... To much for just a car to have fun with and look I found another great car maker on the way (Nissan) but truth be told I DISLIKE most Hondas, thats only do to the fact that FWD isnt my style. So its all good over here. I love my car!

Heh, i dont think the camry and accord compete with the altima (too cheap), maxima maybe..
edit NM, just looked it up...the altima and maxima are both competitors..sorta

There's different trim levels. Be reminded that Nissan got a six-cyllinder in their Altima now. There's four-cyllinder Camrys and four-cyllinder Accords. Maxima is too pricy to compete with both. I know this beacuse I looked at our salesmen's training books.

Well, as far as which companies I like, this is from best to worst
Nissan
Toyota
Mazda
Mitsubishi
Suburu
Volkswagon
Dodge
GMC
Chevy
Honda
Ford
I know i'm missing quite a few, but I can't think of them right now. I basically left out all luxury companies I could think of.

i think everyone just hates honda in general. when you see ricers in there rice rockets you see civics with type r stickers and dual exhaust. if you think about the supercars honda has the s2000, toyota has the supra, nissan has the 300zx, mitsubishi has the 3000gt and mazda has the rx7. i believe the s2000 is the slowest, but it is NA which is a plus.

A old guy I know probably gave me the best advice I ever heard.
He said, "Matt, never hate in the plural."
In other words, don't subject a group of people to a stereotype based on one or two encounters with people who fall in that category.
But, for best to worst I'll give you an idea.
1. Mazda. simply for quality craftsmanship and the rotary engine. Plus I'm going to stick an 1100 hp 604 hemi in an 85 GLC hatchback when my aunt gives it to me.
2. Suzuki - for the Samurai, which can be the most kick-ass off road machine while getting great mileage. Great motorcycles, too.
3. Nissans, for excellent frame design, and wonderful single cam four cylinder. Oh yeah, cheap too. Although I still refer to the trucks as the Jeeps of Japan since they rattle and squeak more than they should. Also the 510 is a wonderful little unassuming car.
4. Any old Ford. I hate new Fords. Absolutely can't stand them.
5. Toyota for various things, most noticebly the early Supras with 80's styling. And the early sporty Tercels. Their 2.4 isn't as good as Nissan's though.
6. Dodge, ONLY with the Cummins 6 cyl turbo diesel. Mad stump-pulling torque. Plus, easily modified for shitloads of horses and torque. I take that back, also for the hemispherical combustion chamber design.
7. Subaru, for sweet ass rally machines.
8. Porsche, while being possibly the quickest and best handling cars on the planet, yet hindered by astronomical cost.
9. Ferrari, while highly unpractical and costly to run, still neat cars.
10. While the Chevy 350 is one of the best engines around for building, I still wouldn't own a Chevy except possibly a 69 El Camino or Chevelle.
Note Honda is not there, and most other vehicle manufacturers that concentrate on front wheel drive. I will say they are excellent automobiles for longevity. I still hate front wheel drive. I am not comfortable with it, and I probably won't ever be. It is superior when thinking about drivetrain efficiency losses, and in the snow, but I don't care. The automobile isn't an efficient machine in the first place, so big fricking whoop de doo.
IT'S RWD OR 4WD OR AWD, OR NOTHING!!!!!
And I prefer trucks, can you tell? Hehehe. 1st vehicle: 1976 Ford Courier (Mazda 1800 pickup) 2nd vehicle: 1987 Mazda B2000. 3rd vehicle: 1996 Nissan pickup. 4th: '63 Ford F100 stepside shortbed.
Still haven't owned a car yet.

chicken man, dig the quote, can i steal it?
i personally don't hate any cars (or trucks), just the @$$holes that own/drive them
most all cars have somethign to offer, and a market for use, the yugo... not sure, but it was based on a fiat!
truly, the only reason i go for foreign cars, is that i feel that they offer better value than current domestics
even front wheel drive has its place
i'm done

Go for it. I wish more people would pay attention to that quote. It's pretty relevant in daily life. Yeah, FWD has it's place. I just hope I never have to drive it continually. My wife is gonna be a truck/240 RWD loving woman! If I ever get married.

I dont hate any cars, but what I do hate are crap companies who turn out "ricey" aftermarket add-ons and market them to Honda owners as JDM upgrades (Altezza anyone??).
Also, I hate all those BOGUS products that appear when searching Ebay under the keyword "240SX" (OBX, unlicensed NISMO gear, offbrand "Greddy Style" mufflers, etc.)
But, if I had to pick one car I just cant stand...well...heres my top 5 list.
1. Riced out Civics
2. Riced out Sunfire/Caveliers (sp?)
3. Hyundai TIBERONS
4. Anything with a supertrap muffler
5. Anything with an elevated metal racing wing.

I hate no car. It's even hard for me to call favorites. I do prefer RWD, but ITR's, GS-R's, CRX's, SE-R's, Minis, and others all catch my interest. There's no way I could rank or take sides with vehicles like M3's, Bugs, RX-7's, Supras, GT-R's, Camaro RS/SS's, Chevelles, Mustang Cobras, Vipers, Chargers, NSX's, 911 Turbos, 300ZX's, Miatas, MR-2/MR-S's, Lancer EVO's, 3000GT's, GTO's, Fierro's, Z-71's, Tahoes, Jeeps, Lightnings, WRX's, CLK's, 510's, 240/260/280Z's, 240SX/Silvia/180SX's, 500R's, CTR's, Corolla GT-S's, Z3's, SLK's, Celicas, S2000's...... . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

To add to everyones Rice list...i'd like to mention a car i saw in a neighboring town a few weeks ago. It was a Yugo. Bright orange, chrome rims...nearly sitting on the ground. Stickers galore! Some banner reading "YuSpeed" Anyone ever heard of YuSpeed??? What was this madman trying to acomplish? Yugo's suck! The only thing good about them is that they have a rear window defroster so you can keep your hands warm when youre pushstartin the fucker in the winter

Toyota and Honda recently haven't been fairing well togther. There was a big deal about 2 years ago when Honda sold one of their CART cars to Toyota and Toyota had it at display at the Detroit Auto Show claiming its prestige as their own. One of the Honda engineers got so angry he went over to the Toyota area and got into a scuffle with one of the Toyota employees.

Cars have four wheels, and engine, a couple pedals and a steering wheel... I don't really give a shit what people think... but if I'm going to buy a car I want to at least be able to find it in a parking lot!! I think I would lose my identify with a Honda... I only dislike them because they are common slow and ugly!! I like new school Preleudes... if they weren't Honda I'd probably consider one the same as my 98!!

Well honda does have the NSX, although that's mid engine, but its supposed to be the one to compete with the supra, 3000gt, etc. (although its a bit pricier).

i really hope others share my opinioin:
i hate the driver not the car, i mean lets say u say i hate honda pplz......why...cuz they have riced out civics?......well alot of honda pplz hate honda pplz with riced out civics, and lets not forget that crazy green 240sx with 300lbs of rice on it.......so im not like...ewww nissan rocks honda sucks.....it's just weal minded pplz that mess up the scence. i mean the true enthusiest into IMPORTS, no car companies...like in the 70's. american muscule carz were the thing, they didnt go chevy and ford...well kinda but not liek that, the sad part is when i talk to pplz in the domestic scene they know specs and everything about all domestics, not just the car they got...but i've noticed alot of nissan folks dun know specs for toyota, honda, scooby, ect and honda pplz r they same....maybe just in the states....sorry

The only car's I hate are DSM's and thats just because I had one and it broke on me a lot.
Though turbo DSM's are good bang for your buck though. They just put you on a first name basis with your mechanic.

honestly I would have to say that I don't dislike Honda's #### I almost bought a CRX for fun. the thing I don't like is ricey Honda kids telling me Nissans are crap all the while eeeewwwing and aaaahhhing over the Skyline.
That and riced out Honda's and its not so much the car that pissess me off its the driver who riced it and thinks his car is the schiznit.

well theres a new rivalry... audi vs bmw. thats real big but thats more of a company thing.. not a drivers thing. anywho the only cars i dislike are camrys, corollas and some suv's well the realy big suv's save for the escalade. i like the escalade just cause its got the most powerful engine in its class (i sound like a commercial) i dont really dislike hondas cause they have awsome enginering. and i dont have a big pms about fwd cars. the only thing i hate about cars are those friggin automatics and manumatics. PEOPLE SWEAR THAT MANUMATICS ARE MANUAL TRANNY'S WTF IS WRONG WITH THEM. that guy doesnt deserve to have a cool car. he deserves a camry. dammit i hate camrys. other than that i dont really dislike anyother cars. i do dislike people who make therye cars look fast but they have stock engines.

As far as Honda being a FWD-oriented company - all car companies, save BMW and exotic car companies, are FWD oriented. That's what sells. Honda DOES have the S2000, which has one of the best N/A engines in the world, and the NSX, with its aluminum frame and mid-engine design. In most tests the NSX beats the Skyline in drag too.
As far as Audi vs. BMW - in my opinion, no company has a more beautiful car than BMW's new 3-series. Yeah, there are tons of cars that look good, look cool, whatever. The 3-series is fucking BEAUTIFUL. So clean, so nice...wow...
And hating corollas? Remember that Levins and Truenos are Corollas too...2 door, 20V, 4AGE powered corollas. Over 160 hp. For me, I'd have to say Nissan and BMW are my favorite car companies, but Honda is up there, and there is no car company that I DISLIKE. Even Ford...shit, have you seen the new GT40 prototype? mmmmmmmmmm...
