I just got a 180sx diff which is 5 bolt, i also got 5 bolt axles.. but i dont have the nuts and bolts that connect the axles to the diff..
i know they are different that the 6 bolt bolts..
does anyone know exactly what size and length bolts i should get?
I planned on going to the hardware store to get them, i kinda doubt that ill be able to find them at the auto parts store
thanks for any help

They aren't standard hex bolts. They are shoulder bolts that match the diameter of the holes in the axles and output shafts. The correct hardware you are looking for can be found on 5-bolt J30 differentials.

i was thinking i could find a bolt with a shank on it that would match the size..
i know the ID of the hole on the axle is 10mm so i figured i would use an M10?

whatever you use make sure there is an actual unthreaded portion of the shank through both of the holes that matches the diameter of the holes. You can stick an M10 bolt in there as I'm sure zilvian's have in the past but I can't guarantee it will work.

You can use any decent grade 8 bolt, so long as it fits into the 'shoulder/machiend' part to keep it from turning.
