View Full Version : a vicious vibration at 50-60 mph

i have a s13 hatch and at around 40 i steering wheel starts to vibrate side to side and when i hit 50-60 my car vibrate viciously from side to side, idk i looked at my rack and pinions bushings and i might have to change those, my tires are balanced and i have new tie rod ends and ball joints, wtf could it be!

uhmmm i did have a similar problem ended up that the welds on the upper part of the subrame bolts gave in and yep causing my whole front subframe to wobble doin 55+ check em out (idk how they got like that maybe my suspensions too stiff)

the spring on the rate.
i replace the tension rod and it did no use.
you may want to double check on the rack n pinion bushing that ususaly the problem on these old cars.

check to see if your subframe is bolted down properly, or even check to see if you wheels are aligned. those sticky weights can fall off easily causes some serious vibration. scary vibration. i just had that issue.

i know i need a alignment, n i dont have sticky weights, n they are balance i just did them
everything is bolted down right someone said somthing about my driveshaft though

Check your tension rod bushings and search either here or on google there is a write up on how to determine where it is... search for 55mph intermittent shake
