View Full Version : need HELP coilover collar gone! safe?

I have a 98 s14 with tein type hr coilovers, and all the locking collars are gone and now one of the spring perch collars in the front cracked and fell off... Im rubbing my wirning harness.... any quick fixes ?

type hrs are pretty old. just try to source some collars off another old tein coilover. people sell em for pretty cheap.

yeah Im broke right now,,, anyone able to answer weather or not i can drive with the spring on the actual body of shock, its resting on 2/3 of the perch collar and the two parts that go to the spindle... also any tips for relocating the fender harness?

Just take off the front fender, yank on the harness until its up over the little metal lip on the frame and ziptie it down.

ok I got the part numbers of all the pieces from tein,,,, apparently they know there was a issue with the old style.. now they use the new green ones with the rubber spring center

front seat/lock LSS 02-F1298-3 x2 11.40 ea
front center rubber LSS 01-F1297-6 9.50 ea

rear seat/lock LSS 02-F1298-4 X2
center rubber Lss 01-f1297-6 x2

yea take some wire cutters, cut wire....and add length to wire IN bay. DONE.

I remember MATEJ saying he managed to relocate his harness into his bay without cutting a single wire.

yep, it's possible. i started then got lazy and went back to the old location

remove smj and grommet and shit. pull through driver side wheel well, and pull through. route over strut tower or other location (may require cutting if another location) and finesse it through the triangle cut out in the side of the firewall then back through the same hole it came through.

Or relocate everything in a way more efficient then stock without needing cutting

plus, soldering 40+ wires ISN'T HARD. It is just tedious, get over it.

Mark wires with tape and numbers, start with 5 at a time or so. Add 1 foot of wire or w.e u need(buy another loom from part out and use wires or new wire) and continue in increments of 5

What 1on1 and I did was jus pulled it and then pushed up as high as we could on the fender and then ziptied it there. I do not rub at all.
