View Full Version : Meters Fuse (seatbelts)
Ok, I removed all of my seatbelts not to long agon the track, the lap belt, behind the seats on the floorboard. I recently installed some 3pt harnesses and removed the female seatbelt connected to the seat. After that I started blowing my 10amp meters fuse. I reinstalled the seat belt connector and everything has been fine for about 2 weeks. Now I am blowing the fuse again. The computer box in the center console is not plugged in nor has it since I removed the auto seatbelts. I ran about six months w/o any seatbelts and had no problems. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

what fuse are you blowing? if it's for your instrument cluster, it's not being blown by your seatbelt crap. the only time i ever managed to blow my cluster fuse was when i was driving around without a dash...
"meter" fuse the 10 amp one. It has to be the seatbelts somehow. everything was working fine till I removed that.

There are the wires that go to the little seat belt light on the dash.
If the power wire got shorted to ground, that would probably case that. Go find those wires and cap em off.
Ok, I plugged in the compute under the center console. Only the big plug on the right side. My seat belt light comes on now, but goes off after a min or so. So far so good going on two days, wish me luck.
Thanks for the input,
