There is a guy here, well close to here, Jacksonville. Car looks like a 98, but, he says it's a 99. Now, I have been around the 240 scene for about 4 years now, I'm only 18, but I have a good amount of knowledge of 240s. Now, I know that they stopped in 98, but I'm just wondering if I have slipped somewhere, and haven't heard about a 99, or if this guy is just bs'ing me

mistyped im sure (if online) if said, he might have BOUGHT it in 99.

Acutally, if you want to get tech about it, they might not have made any 98's, maybe just all left-overs from late 97. I was reading this somewhere .

well to be totally technical... the 98's were made in 97. So technically, no cars were made in 98 (minus the standard lil manufacturing spillover heh)

Definitely no 99's tho.

I would imagin with S14s since thier was such a little number, that they would have all been made in 97 (for the 98s). Although my S13 was made in February 89, and still an 89.

But come to think of it, there is a guy somewhere around the midwest with a 98, built in 98. He is on this board (matt0941 or sumin like that).

yes i know they are all 97s but they were SOLD as 98s..sooo the last year SOLD (as i said) was 98.

In general, a car produced with a production month of 1-6 are of that current year. Anything from 7-12 are the next year's model.

My 93 hatch was built in August of 1993.

u sure about that? I take it your looking at the vin (in the door i believe)

Well I guess maybe 93 was a goofy year cuz of the vert in 94 and stuff. All 94s were verts right? And I guess the spill over in 93 counted as 93.

Yeah, the little white sticker in the door frame (glovebox now, body shop peeled it when they repainted part of the car after it got bumped in the parking lot) says 08/1993, or something to that effect.

Can you check the importation date with the VIN? I'm curious how many non-convertible S13s came into the States after mine.

Yeah, that green 98 was made in june or maybe july of 98 so all the 98's were definitely not made in 97.

What's his screen name, I can't keep people straight.

The date of manufacture on mine shows as March '98.

In europe, the S14 was carried into model year 2000, dont know how many were produced, but I think they were all called 200sx's, thanks to a little 2.0 liter turbo motor we never got... there is a britished based website for them I forget what it is tho, I know some peeps on zilvia read it tho, grant what is the site called???

Cool guys over there, theres a few of em on this board, and a few of us on thiers.

And ya all thier s13 or s14s were called 200sx.

S13s had CA18s, S14s had S14 SRs.
