Transmission noise??

my transmission makes a loud humming noise when im in reverse. but it only does it once in a while. i cant figure out what it is. any suggestions or ideas?

You sure it's the transmission?

Most times, it comes from the rear brake calipers. Seems to be a common issue with 240's. Seized brake caliper if I remember correctly.

im positive its from the transmission, and it only does it in reverse at low speeds (sub 5mph).
