I purchased an S13 Blacktop recently and im not sure what turbo it has on it. I was told it was a Journal Bearing T28 off a S14 SR20det but dont know what to look for to confirm. Below is a picture of what i have. If anybody can tell or if i need to post more pics let me know please.

Picture of the turbo:

Also i was starting to install my SS Braided Lines. The first hard line i removed was the outside line. When i disconnected it, there was oil on it. It could have been just some residue on the threads but it looked oily to me. I thought the inner and outer ports were coolant, and the top and bottom were oil. If any one can clarify this or correct me please do. Thanks!

Pictures of the line I removed:

The outer port pictured here goes to the water neck, or to the block??

The 90 degree fitting on the outer coolant line will not clear the wastegate rod. I have heard rumors of people flipping the rod upside down. Has anyone tried this? and is it safe to do? Or is there a better solution to this problem. Thanks for the help everyone!!

Its an S14 T-28.....Its a Ball Bearing Turbo.

I Dont know why everyone thinks S14 Turbo's are journal bearing.

The only T28 Journal bearing turbo is the Pulsar GTIR turbo.

What are the proper ways of hooking coolant lines on a ball bearing?

Is the outer port shown go to the water neck or to the block? Thanks.

And doesn't a ball bearing take a different restrictor than a T25?

whatever way works.
doesnt matter witch way you hook the coolant lines

yes the T28 uses a smaller orifice (needs less oil) I would hope whoever put that on there used the correct Oil feed bajo bolt

The banjo bolt on the left is what was on it. The fitting on the right is the one that came with my lines. Not sure if its the right one. If you can tell by the pic please let me know. Thanks for the help!!!!!

youd have to look down inside the banjo bolt to see the pin hole Restrictor, almost impossible to tell what it is by eyeballing it.

Search around here and youll find the correct size youll need

the one on the right is not really a restictor its for the top of the turbo oil feel to connect the SS line
