it's really not hard or expensive. check this (http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/s14_5speed_swap.htm) out.
it's more time consuming than anything.

you can, but you'll need all the parts that make a manual work, like clutch master and slave cylander, brake and clutch pedals(whole assemblies), lines, etc.

you don't need the brake pedal from a manual just cut down your auto brake pedal if you need any parts for this swap i think a have everything except the hardlines sitting around in my garage you can do the mechanical part of this install with a 12 mm socket and two drill bits the whole thing is rather simple and straight forward

i dunno how much it would cost i am in iowa so it may cost a bit you should be able to find most of it at a junkyard i have a zip file that has all the part numbers and step by step instructions for the swap but it is too big to post here (2.50MB) and MSN won't let me e-mail it i will have to find a way to get it out there so people can use it but for right now i dunno

it's actually pretty simple. I just finished doing the 5spd swap in my fast back about 2 weeks ago. We started at 11am and where finished by 7pm. As long as you have everything it's really simple to do. But it is a 2 man prject.

i know it is the same as S13 not sure on S14 though
This question is a little different, it was explained in the FAQ or anywhere else that i have read. What about the tranny fluid pan? because whne i got the car(auto) the tranny was slipping so i changed the ATF and it ran fine. Since i will be doing the swap, is there a different tranny pan? if not what fluid do i use? do i just drain the ATF and fill it up w/ manual tranny fluid (if it exist)? and what about the OD?

DRFT,
The manual transmission does not have an oil pan, and it does not use ATF. It uses gear oil. Just go to your local parts store and tell them you need gear oil for the Manual Tranny on a Nissan 240sx and they will direct you in the right direction.
On the over drive question. There is no Overdrive on a 5spd just a fifth gear. I am really confused about your question. If you are doing a 5spd swap, you are taking off all the automatic equipment including wiring. There is some re-wiring that you need to do.

Hey Hondaguy, im in the same situation... one step further. I actually bought the car... so if u do get the auto, lemme come help and learn from ur swap!... or else i may just shell out the doe and let sumone else do it.
How much the parts goin for from your garage "the head"? Im not sure how much it should cost cuz ive heard $400 to $600s... also, Im wondering if its cheapest to just go to a junk yard and pull it from a car there. I think s13s are all over the place.

I have a 5spd that I'm accually trying to get rid of. The flywheel will probably need resurfaced and a new clutch, but I would hope you would be doing that anyway. Send me an Email. I'm up in Marrysville,CA and I want rid of this thing. Oh, there is nothing mech. wrong with it I just don't need 2 spair tranny's.

Are you trying to sell a whole car or jsut tranny? if it is a whole car how much? if it is a tranny do you have other 5spd swap parts?

Its just the engine and tranny. I got almost everything needed for the 5spd swap, except the clutch pedal, Master and slave. I'm also not sure if I still have the cross member for it. Price, not much. Here The engine Details are fairly simple. Its a 90 KA24E with approx 130k on it. Which still runs like a raped ape. Motor brackets w/o mounts. wireing harness and ECU. I do have some spair car parts laying around but anyone who's interested email me or PM me so I am not taking up too much space on this thread.
